uh - its just bright, cause i increased the gamma of the whole ship. - i realized that the juggernaut i posted earlier was nothing more t han a black blob - so i made that image a little brighter.... besides....
liberty is a HAPPY family - their ships are not sinister and dark, they are bright - and their crews are smiling all the time.
but seriously - the ships skin is actually around 20% darker.
and H.F.Mudd:
i have scaled it accordingly. - mind the little pilot figure looks quite forlorn in the large glass dome.
since the whole ship ( cmp, mat, sur, and the inis is smaller than 400kb - i might ask cannon to simply place it into the mod without any sale location - so that future special RP chars might get it )
however - keep in mind.... this ship has a twin siege cruiser forward gun instead of 2x lvl10 battleship turrets. - its not really better than the normal LABC, cause you ll try to line up the target all the time - giving up precious dps .... and in the end, you ll still miss your target, cause the cruiser F-gun only travels at a speed of 900ms
Ah, I see now. Well then the Ship is perfectly fine for me. I still love the Bridge, looking so epic. I think it is fine using two Forward Cannons now instead of murdering Battleship Razors. Actually, the Forward Cannon was fast enough to kill Joe, weren't they?

A more ceramic looking hull might look more "next generation", I think. Though generally lighter would do fine too. The shape, while revolutionary, will look even cooler if it looks like it's made out of next generation materials as well... though straight up ceramics might make it look "too" next gen. Super-advanced is the way to go, though- we can't see that it's reactor is 17% more fuel efficient or that it has the most advanced targeting array ever built. What we -can- see is how sleek and graceful it looks, and that sleekness and grace should be reflected in both shape and texture. Play around a bit, perhaps... I'm not quite sure what would work without going overboard.
Also, on that skin, the Liberty logo looks too high- is there an edge right below it? I can hardly tell with the skin on. If there isn't, perhaps trying to center it a bit more would make it look a little better.
Other question- engines? Do you have an effect in mind already?
Make no mistake, I still think this is a gorgeous ship. But it might be able to go from "really cool" to "the coolest piece of hardware ever, worthy of legend by looks alone". And that's worth trying for.
Hrm.. If it has two siege cannons, where are the emitters and rings for them?
I'm having a hard time with suggestions because I don't know what type of ship you're trying for.
If it's an LABC replace, or a battlecruiser of any kind, then I don't think you should give it Siege Cannons. The current Siege Cruiser is good with its current role of a long range strike cruiser, and you can figure out just what it's intended to do from a single glance. It's long, agile, presenting as small a forward profile as possible without compromising the structure supporting main gun.
This ship is thin as well from the top and front, but from the sides it presents a wide profile, perfect for mounting ship-to-ship torpedos or broadside gun emplacements. It also looks rather agile as well, like a knife, using its forward profile to minimize as much damage as possible until it gets in range, then slipping in between enemy ships and unleashing hell.
Personally, I'd love to see a cruiser with multiple torpedo mounts.
Characters Alan Markson: The Hellfire Legion's Lord Commander The Perihelion: Freeport Four's guardian, and yet much more. Missing and assumed Lost with all hands. Eric Dresmund: Junker, smuggler, thief. Last seen drunk on Beaumont Vayrn Wyard: IMG Recon pilot turned Neo-Terran Captain. Last location unknown
engine effects - dunno... when i took it out for a fun run - i gave it nomad engines ( just for the cruise charge up screech )
the cannons are currently located at the nose of the ship - ( the darker intakes - not easy to see ) - they don t really have any model.... ( its not like its a spinal mount like the siege cruiser )
but firing them looks really neat. - like a twin railgun... mind, its hard to hit a thing with it.
about a "next generation skin" - i have tried a rather smooth dark grey skin ( a bit like the US air force stealth fighter look... you know - the ugly triangle ) and - while it looks nice as a render... it looks utterly boring ingame. most other smooth skins look sophisticated - but due to the lack of detail... a bit boring.
but to make things clear... NO its not a replace for the LABC. i happen to like the LABC ( i know it was one of my earlier models - but i still like its shape quite a lot.... and yes, i know it severely lacks details )
What about a Mix of the Osiris and Liberty Skin? As the Osiris was a Libertonian Prototype and has another Skin this would be the most fitting I think.

I like it this bright actually, the liberty logo is almost glowing which looks quite cool
To those who are saying 'no more liberty ships', why not? just because there is already a cruiser and BC, who says we cant add another? There should always be room for variety
