My council BS (which is significantly the same as the GRN one) is able to fire his 16 primary constantly whit no power use while I still can launch a missile and a heavy trebuchet. Come to the GRN and play the GRN invasion on all sirius !!
Also I assisted one time to a BHG vs Osiris fight ... both where firing their mortars and then waiting so long for power up since they shoot only on shields ... wait, the mortars aren't for shields !!! it's for final hull raping strike guys !
about what jure said - partly right - but the osiris is of course the better battleship - it has a slimmer hitbox due to vanilla standards, a higher reverse speed and can dodge slightly better - but then, its also supposed to be slightly superior ( although thats where one can argue about it - the BHG BS is a ship meant for pure combat - the osiris is "only" a light recon battleship )
anyway - this is the hitbox atm.
as you can see - the ships front profile is indeed a lot larger than the "visible" ship itself - lets put it that way - its quite generous - and around 80% wider than the osiris.
edit: for reference - the osiris is about the same width as the hull of the BHG BS - difference is ... its hitbox fits like a glove. - but like mjolnir said - we had a very hard time iwth the hitbox. glad when you make something that fits perfectly AND has no projectile & collision problems - this generous hitbox is not put on that ship out of spite - its put on it, cause we simply have no better. - oh - and quite some ships have a rather generous hitbox - but such a hitbox is often still a lot better t han a stretched vanilla hitbox.

Oh right, I thought the number was a bit low for a heavy bs... Correction legate has 8.08M armor (with botts)

During development it got some 5 different hitboxes and it the end only the current one worked for both. As I described somewhere else it takes between 2 and 4 hours to make and test a hitbox and needs 2 people to do so. Sorry that we "gave up" after some 18 hours.
Battlestar turns exactly 13% faster, but it has vertical and horizontal turning switched. So Battlestar vertical is 13 % faster than BHG BS horizontal and same for horizontal vs vertical the other way.

Now difference between fastest turn of BHG BS and Osiris is 0.04 rad/s. So 3 seconds according to your calculation. HUGE difference as you say.

It has exactly same powerplant as Osiris, Battlestar and other "small" BS. I'm affraid you are suffering a bit of the "sabre effect".

"Big" is in the eye of the beholder I guess. The horizonatl turn is faster than it should have had while vertical is slower. Yes it could get both same in the middle. Which will make sure you can't "exploit" any advantage trough better piloting.
Osiris is designed to fly forward and fire backward yes, yet it has normal forward speed (90) and only 8? turrets firing backwards.
While BHG BS has 14 turrets firing forward. It is not a "bombarding ship" it's a "charge head on and overpower them" ship. Just like the BHG BC. And just like that one this won't work against Heavier things (like an OC dread or Legate), but it will work against an Osiris.
It overpowers Osiris simply by charging in. It has hard time fighting OC dread or Legate alone. A bit in the same way as BHG Dessie has problems with OC dessie or Corsair cruiser 1vs1. Or how BHG GS has problems with any GB.
I`m not suffering from anything mate. but when I fire standard turrets with just the 1 pulse cannon and still run dry fairly quickly I daresay it`s hardly my fault.
charge in and overpower them with empty weaponpower and weak hull and shield? some overpowering.
I bet many an enemy BS would love to be "overpowered" by a rushing BHG BS, only to blow it to tiny pieces.
@ Jinx: thanks for the picture. that is quite the generous hitbox yeah. too bad you lads had so much trouble trying to get a proper one in working order. any chance it will be fixed?
i can t say what causes troubles with hitboxes - i haven t made them - i have tried to learn it but failed ( crashes ) - frozen knows all about it - but we also have tutorials here....
some people leanred all from those tutorials - so everyone is really free to try him/herself. - when its about testing, you ll need someone to test it with you - its gotto be tested if it is hit by all sorts of weapontypes, blast damage and collisions with mobile objects and static ones.
some ships have such a hitbox - most ships don t have. - most ships have an excellent hitbox that works. - only someone professional would know why some work and why some don t work .

botts get multiplied by cap armor aswell... so healing capacity of a single bot is 2400 hitpoints when you have cap 8... recalc then;)

current box that is used is made by me...it is simplest shape that covers the ship and has both collision detection (most important for getting hit by missiles) and receives hits from turrets and guns...all others we tried have failed. Both Frozen and in lesser extent me, worked on this blasted hitbox...countless times we failed....this is best result we managed to get for that model...it is far from perfect but it is ONLY one that ever fully worked...
None of us could figure out why none of hitboxes work on this ship, but we suspect it is caused by the shape...
Granted....i could give it few more tries, but they will not be more precise then this one...

Well senor, 1 pulse cannon takes away roughly 185k energy per second... so that's nearly entire powerplants regen.... It is designed to down shields fast when you are in a hurry... and when taking down a battleship you are not in a hurry...
