simple.
Zoners in house space don't understand what a zoner is.
Those who stay in the edge worlds know what it is.

Between you and me? Those in house space just want a neutral ID and be left alone.
What do we do? Invent a reason to shoot them, if it amuses us.

I do that. It gave me the opportunity to blow up two battlestars.
I hope everyone catched my somewhat ironic (but not so) tone.

I have to admit guilt on this, the errors of the poorly educated ones overshadow the brilliant examples of the few who's standards I try to uphold. Those errors built on ignorance that lead to complaints such as this thread on the basis of even further ignorance. Bottom line is the Zoner Cap was wrong, being in Gallia "exploring" using the Zoner Council as a defensive threat. The Gallic GRN was also wrong for not knowing any better and not killing/throwing out the Zoner, instead posting this thread. Two wrongs do hit a soft spot, and it saddens me.

You have far more faith in humanity than I, as most humans are selfish, illogical and unreasonable, the larger the group of people you have the more true it is.

I take full responsibility, attempting to look for the good in people. I must be going mad.

Why do you think the Council of Zoners takes no actions upon pirates who tax Zoner ID'd transports? If you wish to know, read below.

If the Zoners wanted to trade with the houses, they wouldn't have biodomes or anything of that sort. It's just silly to think that the Zoners would willingly trade with the houses and trade with them because they can is, well, silly because they committed themselves to being independent from the houses and relying on nothing but themselves...
So Zoners grow there own food hence the biodomes. They still need to get components for ships, fuel and other goods that they don't produce. So yes, I will run into house space to get it but I don't stick around.
Oh yeah, and look at Pennsylvania. A Zoner base with many Zoners on planet Erie in a system controlled by Liberty. At least there, they have learned to co-exist.

They may not like house space to live in but as with anyone else, they have to do business with them.

I think the bigger issue people have is with Zoner capships in houses. Afaik, I've never heard someone complain about a Zoner trans in house space except for those who are OORP and try to use the Zoner ID as a shield. The problem is people in Juggernauts sitting outside major planets. I've seen it at New Berlin, at Manhatten, in Honshu, etc. That is what needs to stop happening.

Any cap ship flying through a house system should generally not happen. This is of course without any good RP story to be there. I will occasionally fly my cruiser through some of the house systems, but the info card does state that the ship is built to be an "explorer". So I use the RP that it is a survey vessel, out to basically gather news from the house systems and right up reports on the findings (I need to start a page for that....). But most of the time I just stay stationed out in the omicron systems, cause that is where the zoners belong.

zoners leave / left the core systems for various reasons. - there is not so much as a unified reason, except a faint hope that things are better elsewhere.

zoners do of course fly through house space. - just cause you re moving into the woods doesn t mean you avoid the city. - zoner warships may not be seen much in the house space... .

but i remind you on the 4.84 ID card of the juggernaut. - it mentions that the ship is also meant to supply remote freeports - so zoners did use it for shopping purpose - and thats a battleship.

zoners use their trading to forge ties and to keep their influence. - zoner traders can and will be seen in the inner sphere now and in the future - and it would be foolish to expect less.

additionally to that - there are of course also game mechanic issues. - traderoutes are made with two ideas in mind. - logical routes and balance. - so if a zoner wants to make money, he will need to enter house space occasionally. - it is preferred if at least one of his stops includes a freeport - but thats as much appreciated as that one of the commodities the ALG trades with is toxic waste.... .

if we were 100% serious about RP without ANY idea of profit / balance. - OSC would fly armoured transports with living cargo only - and empty cargo sometimes .. OR and that is more important - negativly profitable cargo. ( the vacationers you carry TO a location want to go back ... )

ALG would trade in radioactive stuff and waste - in house space, BMM would stick to mining materials and goods. etc etc.

we can apply "high standards" to every trading faction. - and the result is that balance is not given anymore. - one faction might be lucky to have a profitable route left that is also 100% factionized, - other factions wouldn t make a million / hour in a 5000 transport.

so when you ask if one faction has to have access to a place cause it does not match their RP 100% - also think of other factions that trade in goods that are also not matching their RP 100%. if you d apply different standards - you d need to explain why you do it.

added is my traderoute:

- delta > newcastle
- newcastle > edinbourgh
- edinbourgh > s-17
- s17 > delta

as you can see, it includes house space. - the commodities i trade with are meant to be taken into house space - or out of house space into the borderworlds. - if zoners were "not allowed" in house space - there d be no way to really do those goods - as they are not to be traded by house companies.

Do not take your Zoner into Liberty, or expect to be arrested...

and ... that is perfectly fine. - any zoner that is caught selling supplies to criminals is hit by the full lawful force. - however... any zoner buying and selling at a LAWFUL base is not to be associated with these criminal elements. as the "rumor" only states that its zoners that supply criminals - not zoners as such that are to be considered criminals.

thats a difference, don t you think?

Well, it's a "new" (hehe, 17 year old...) law posted in Liberty, which is basically outlawing the faction (in a sense).

One would imagine that any Zoners entering Liberty would be hassled by the law, as they are all potentially aiding criminals...the smart Zoner will just not go there.
