No one will stop a hessian from having a hessian cruiser. I have a RHC that was a indy for years before I finially gave in and joined. RHA ALWAYS were good about it.
Anyways, the outty dessi is a pwn machine. I don't see why it is such an issue to use it as an outcast.

lolol oorp hacker, USE YUR SHIP LINE, NOT THE OUTCAST FIGHTER, WHY ARE U NOT USING URS?
Because half of the time, we don't want to. Maybe we don't want the quick, lightly armoured Bayonet, and want something with more armour and firepower, like the Sabre? Same with the rest of the light and fast Hacker setup. Some people don't like the speed. And that's the same with any faction and their allies. As long as it isn't something completely obscene like a battleship or cruiser, I don't see allies minding. In fact, I used a Barghest as a Lane Hacker, and not once did a single LR say anything to me about it. As long as you can roleplay it out, go and use an allies ship. Just make sure to RPly ask them either on the forums, or ingame if you're going to enter a guard system for it.
Yeah while the 'impossibility' of getting huge amounts of your allies caps exists, if your guns suck, and your friend has huge amounts of good guns, frankly if you were 'roleplaying' your characters, chances are a very large proportion of them would want to use the good guns. You have to remember that your characters might be interested in 'pvp advantages' too.
