Because they want the blue message to be real, not just some figment of their sick imaginations (no offense intended...). And they want other people to see. The blue message is basicly saying "I am powerful, I can kill people, Oh yes I can, now you can not doubt it."
[17:45:39] Wolfs Ghost (Murphy): Tom, you have problems. Go kill yourself.
[19:25:12] Johnny (Jam): Tomtom, I will beat you with a spoon.
[14:22:56] Prarabdh Thakur: KILL HIM WITH A SHEEP.
[17:40:48] Eagle (Junes): Tom should be slapped with a spoon.
[11:32:18] Warspite: Thank you for being so awesome Tom. <3
[18:17:36] Metano: I love you tomtom
[20:06:24] Warspite: I will seriously give you epic head.

No.. the blue message seeking is as rampant as ever.... if there is a bounty they are supposed to tell you, it makes sense in Role Play to pursue someone if there is a bounty at hand...
On the other hand. pursuing someone for FOUR SYSTEMS (this has happened to me several times) when that person fled from the outset is just overkill and more than a bit sad in my opinion. It's obvious the person DOES NOT want to pvp... so let them go.

You have {Laowai} in your name though. They should know better than to chase you.:P
(On a completely unrelated note, how are you and how is England?)
They like it when you run, it's entertaining and is all the more sweeter when your killed.

hm.. I run away all the time, the trick is to not use cruise and thrust away, you should really be able to escape like that unless you're a bomber perhaps. Usually people give up trying to shoot you, generally its harder to hit someone who plain runs (sometimes used in combat as 'shield running').
Obviously you cant thrust away in a straight line, keep bobbing left and right and all that stuff, they'll be firing on you constantly, and therefore run out of energy quickly, especially with codes (in addition to being slow 600ms guns that are only easy to hit in joust).
Not to point fingers, but I'd just like to outline three of my experiences fleeing from the BAF.
These are all from BAF/KNF events. First one was: fleeing from 6 BAF in a Chimera, from somewhere near LD-14 to Stokes, then on from there to battleship Nagasaki, all on thrust, and never getting my hull damaged. I was dodging like a madman, and eventually got to safety without the blue message appearing. Took like 15 minutes though...
The other one was from another BAF/KNF event, this time I'm down to about 3 bars of hull, no regens, and I flee from the battle. The battle is pretty much over, and the BAF officer in charge calls for the BAF forces to let the retreating KNF go. A couple BAF chase me, then slowly start dropping off, except one. This one keeps chasing me while I'm fleeing at thrust, and is firing wasp CDs at me. Now I don't know about you, but the only time I'd use Wasp CDs is to finish off that last bit of a person's hull as they're trying to run away. Well that's exactly what happened, and about 5 minutes later, as I'm nearing safety, I blow up to one of those Wasp CDs.
Third one is the same situation as the second, same order to let me go, except this time I'm fleeing when I have more hull left. This time I'm still pursued, still shot at by Wasp CDs, but I have enough hull to get away.
A d finally, one of my experiences from the other side of the fleeing. I'm chasing this Phantom in a fighter, along with a friendly destroyer nearby, also chasing (or attempting to). I PM the phantom, tell him that he can run if he wants to, and if he engages cruise that I won't CD him and he can get away. What happens? He politely refuses, then asks for a fight without the destroyer present. We make arrangements and have a good experience.
But, y'know, why bother addressing this problem here? The people we are after aren't going to read this thread, and even if they do, they aren't going to change their behaviors just because someone told them to.
