Boy, Ill tellya, There's nothing I'd like more than to board my Pilgrim slave liner, which by the way dwarfs even some battleships, stride onto the bridge, order my pilot to fire the engines, my comms officer to broadcast takeoff requests, and have my Ops and weapons officers pre-test the defense systems...
But nowadays I board my Pilgrim slave liner, take the elevator up 13 decks, and step into my .... Defender cockpit???
Is it even possible to alter the transparencies for the in-cockpit views on larger ships? Perhaps something like a slightly larger freighter bridge? A functional battleship bridge complete with the backs of bridgecrew heads?
If it is, I'd be glad to search out some concept art and aid in any way I can.
As a commited (or perhaps I should be) capship pilot (mostly lag/ping issues) I would LOVE to feel like Im striding the bridge of my massive starship, not tied to a chair like an Apollo 3 monkey.
Anything would be nice. Aboard any ship, it seems like there is a lack of ...well...life. There is nothing in front of you put a piece of Glass showing space and nebula. ( It seems although Microsoft went at Great pains to keep the Cockpit as...well...boring as possible)
That's perfect for a gunboat bridge!
Can it have more colors though?
The consoles and people are great, just the walls, floor and ceiling could perhaps do with a more high techy texture.

I think the "field of view" is rather small there. If the view was more from the perspective of one of those crew members up front then it would be better. Right now, I don't think this would be very practical.
Edit: Or have the walls on either side as windows instead.
