' Wrote:You guys thought about adding the yacht to the list of allowed ships? All the sucessful pirates could probably afford one. It's use would have to be restricted, but pirating people in a yacht would be a satisfying role-play experience, and would go along well with the idea of using groups of freighters for piracy.
We have other....goals...in mind for the moment. But I don't think that's quite a bad idea.
i posted this in the other thread, but will repost it here.
Quote:the one thing that strikes me about the whole thing, is the fact that one of your two bases is trafalger. which is a junker base. which means the junkers would likely kick you out if you drew too much attention to the fact that they were supplying you.
after all, the baf has destroyed you bases in the past. im sure the junkers would remember that, and be carefull.
and what did teh buccaneers have that the junkers were willing to take in exchange for docking rights?
EDIT: after talking with him on skype, and re reading what i said, i will apoligise if anyone is getting a feeling that im trying to undermine the excellent RP that the buccaneers have created. i have nothing but support for them. and i wish them good luck on getting approved.

And we explained that in the other thread, too. Come to think of it, you brought this up on Skype earlier, too. Maybe we're paying rent or something. It's an imperfect solution to the problem of where to dock. We're not getting into bed with the Mollys or Gaians, since we don't want any part of their diplomacy, so we're not using their bases. We pirate IMG on a regular basis, so the Hood is out, too. The Zoners have no bases in Bretonia. Even if they did, we wouldn't use those either, since we pirate them, too. That leaves us with Trafalgar as the only place left in Bretonia for us to dock. If/when we get our own base, we can dock there, but right now we're stuck with no really good options, so we go with the one that's the least unlikely.
The whole point of what we're doing is to make a unique unlawful Bretonian faction. The docking problem comes with all non-vanilla factions, we're no exception. A long time ago, people griped about the Harvesters using Junker bases, as well as the tag/id. For them, it was the best option of a bunch of imperfect options. For us, it's no different. We're doing the best we can with what we've got, even if it's not all ideal. If you've got another solution to our problem that doesn't involve radical changes to our diplomacy or waiting until 4.86 or something, then let me hear it.
EDIT:
It just occurred to me that I came off rather annoyed in this post, and I apologize. I just had a rather annoying RL issue come up, then I read darthbeck's post, and took it the wrong way.
Heh, that imperfect arrangement is rather ironic. because if you read the history, Trafalgar used to be our base, till it got asploded then re-pressurized by the Junkers. It even includes the Bret BS pieces behind the Leeds hole in NL.

I am not a native English Speaker, so i make grammar errors.
But it annoys me when people make silly comments about that... especially brits who for the most part can't speak their own language let alone anyone elses!
I know it's not good to double-post, but in this case, I thought it was important enough that I should.
I finally thought of an answer to everyone's concerns about using Trafalgar as our base. In terms of game mechanics, we're still using it, but in-RP, we're now based on our new flagship, the Prison Liner Leviathan. I'm keeping it docked at Invergordon in Inverness, since that base is both large enough to support a big ship, and remote enough to avoid the prying eyes of the BPA/BAF. Most of the time, though, I'm leaving it F1'd in out-of-the-way spots, returing to port only to resupply or repair.
Yes, we'll still be docking our smaller ships at Trafalgar, since game mechanics don't allow for actually using a player ship as a base, but RP-wise, Trafalgar's now far less important to us than it was.
Not very often is there a faction that I consider joining right off the bat. Especially when I'm already in only two and one of those is sorely neglected. I am, however, thinking of attempting to at least roleplay with you guys. I've already got a pirate who would fit in pretty snug with you lot, roaming Liberty and Bretonia. Born of Curacao, he's become fairly well known within Liberty as a guy that loves his loot.
Unfortunately... he's named Captain Morgan (Aah! Too many Morgans!) and flies a Rogue Gunboat, which you don't seem to care for. Shame really. Kudos on the Alestorm though. Pirating can only be better when you make it more metal.
I perfectly understand the Junker issue too. My Morgan uses Junker bases almost exclusively during his little raids, and has since stuck with a Junker tag. It's least likely to result in shoot-on-sight, but it is fairly obvious that he's a pure-bred pirate.
All in all though, I like it. It's got my support!
