Morrowind, there are none better.

Dungeon Seige II, not the best, but bloody addictive.

Empire Earth I, Rome: Total War and Elder Scrolls: Morrowind all lasted me a long, enjoyable while. Time will tell if Freelancer is the same, and I really hope so.
