Instead of removing the TCD, instead only give the TCD to the leading NPC in the group. So when you do encounter NPCs you get one missile instead of four that can't be CM'd. It would reduce TCD spammage, but not eliminate it.
"The thirteen saloons that had lined the one street of Seney had not left a trace. The foundations of the Mansion House hotel stuck up above the ground. The stone was chipped and split by the fire. It was all that was left of the town of Seney. Even the surface had been burned off the ground.
Nick looked at the burned-over stretch of hillside, where he had expected to find the scattered houses of the town and then walked down the railroad track to the bridge over the river. The river was there."
Quote:Buff Liners - especially the Royal Liner - in maneuverability, at the VERY least. Either give them their Gunboat turrets back (and a specialized powercore), give a huge damage and/or speed buff to their straight guns, or give them a better shield class, possibly (ideally, except perhaps the last one) all of the above. If you have to, make it Special RP Request, like the Imperial Yacht (since it serves a similar purpose).
My problem with this idea is that far too many traders start flying Liners for their immense fire power. More traders will open fire without a word on idle pirates (which should be sanctionable tbh) and less traders will pay because they think they can shoot their way out. This makes pirating in a fighter -impossible- and forces us all into Bombers or Gunboats.
On the other hand, if Liners are able to take out Gunboats, more pirates may ditch them in favour of bombers, which is a good thing. No Liner would ever be able to take out a competant bomber, though. One who knows how to use the range of the SNAC effectively.
If this goes through I'd like to see more restrictions on Liners so they aren't spammed by every single trader (again). As much as I hate the idea of them being used for human cargo only, it sounds like a viable deterant. Also restricting them to certain Guard IDs (They are pretty much crusiers with this suggestion, so it makes sense to me) would help a lot.
I hated the idea of NPCs having TCDs from day one. It's dumb and contributes nearly nothing to roleplay. There are a few glimmering highlights to the new trade system. A few really neat innovations in getting rid of A to B back to A in favor of a C, D and sometimes E. However, a lot of them don't make all that much sense, to me anyway, and there are major shortfalls for certain trades that should exist for corporations.
Trade is truly a grind now. It needs a rework. A rework along the same lines of the new ideas that were implemented. As of right now it is far too limited.
