Well, Ive had this thought after looking at my nav map for a long while. Where the hell are the gallic core worlds going to be in 4.86? Its a bit crowded, take a look for yourself. Where the green dots are is where they could be placed... I have no idea...
a hint - jumpgates actually do point into the general direction of the system they lead to ( mapwise ) - so you don t get a jumpgate pointing west, when the system it goes to is east of you.
maybe that helps you a little with guessing in what approximate direction the core systems might be.
I think the disco map interface (aka: the map) needs to be a lot bigger now...
instead of having it as the same old original vanilla window, we could enlarge it so that we could accommodate more space...
...or...
the designers could create a revolutionary new interface (well... maybe not totally revolutionary):
The map may open up for you 6 map categories for you to choose from, like Bretonia. Then, when you choose that option, it would open up a new map that would show you the Bretonian Subspace. The stars would be legend-ish to show their connections (like white for borderworlds, blue for pure house-worlds, yellow for dangerous areas).
Both options may take up some slick programming, but it may help in the problems of the ever-decreasing map size of Freelancer...
