Way to see if someone is a pirate or not without scanning?

Hey! Don't get me wrong. Pirates that pluder your entire cargo for no reason, use "2milordai" phrases and blow you up after you pay, deserve nothing but the same thing.

If you want to contribute to the anti pirate society, you don't rush head on into Outcast waters or Corsair waters, you take a gunboat or whatever, and offer escorts to the traders in liberty space. Making the pirates lose cash that way and making good connections to the people from the game.

Pressing F9 will show you the other players affiliation before they are within scanner range, asides from giveaway faction tags that is the best one can do

Check system logs as well, see what people say and also see if they are comming closer to your ship.

Also, before coming in weapons hot with my battlecruiser to respond to pirate threats, I'd like to know how many allies and enemies I'm up against.

A Captial Vessel is for BIG threats, not petty crime. You fight enemy CAPITAL ships.


You defend Liberty (or invade Rheinland) against actual threats to the House of Liberty.

Just calling for measures to remove the bad ones or not let them grief, many traders I spoke to (ok a few, didn't speak to 'many') did say some <strike>pirates</strike> people are jerks just hiding behind RP to totally wreck others' day too. so why don't they RP in such a way that no one gets totally smackdowned?
