Quote:in my opinion Reavengitair the BD should be unfriendly if not hostile to their cause.
If not just for the fact they are Gaijin.
I ofcourse will not force that opinion on your faction, but it is how the Nova's will stand in it all.
Well I was about to say exactly the same - unfriendly for me. But then again, I have heard that they use blood dragon ships? I even witnessed one undock from Kyoto. I assumed therefore, that we are somewhat friendly/neutral?
So if both of us support the phantoms being unfriendly, then why are they still docking at our bases?
One thing I thought tied us to groups like the Mollys, Blood Dragons, Golden Chrysanthemums, Bundschuh, and Xenos was the fact that we are, more or less, working in the same immediate direction as them. Who really knows what we do behind closed doors anyway? We certainly wouldn't tell anyone about any of the less, err, kosher things.
Though, I can certainly understand any premonitions the Blood Dragons might have about the Phantoms. You can at least observe what the Bretonians do, but there are really few clues about us. However you react, it's probably justified.
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
Met Djinn today in Alpha on my 101st char. Ive always wondered why we dont see Phantoms more often since your system connects to ours. Anyway, I talked to Djinn for 20-30 minutes or so and was quite entertained. Kudos.

At the same time, you rarely see the phantoms spouting exposition in system chat about wanting to disrupt trade or whatever either. The phantoms I've seen are all ostentatiously 'unhinged,' in a way that I can't see the Bundschuh or someone particularly thinking they would be a good target for a diplomatic overture.

Then you havent met Ze'ev Barak, who has a highly political mind, and is always preaching fighting against the status quo, and the oppressive nature of the house system of governance.
This post is partly an apology to Ze'ev and Platinum, who just killed me in O3, and partly feedback, I hope.
I had an unsatisfactory encounter with Pitchfork sometime ago, no fault of his, and since then have been wanting to meet Phantoms again.
When I heard there were 3 in O3, I logged onto my closest char and headed off to find them. Slap on the wrist for me for metagaming.
Now, to make this worse, I not only did it with a character whose roleplay I'm still feeling my way into, I did it fully prepared and expecting to die. Trying to run at the end wouldn't have helped, I'm fully aware how lacking my PVP skills are, but by rights I should have tried at least.
All that said, WHY would I deliberately seek out 3 Phantoms (One left while I was enroute)
Well, that brings me back to the unsatisfactory encounter with Pitchfork. There's a lot of complaining about Phantoms being PVP whores. Having talked to Baconsoda a couple of times since that initial encounter, I didn't personally hold that view, but I wanted, if you like, to get a second opinion.
All three I've met so far have had discernably different personalities and the two I met today gave me ample opportunity to save myself. Platinum's final words, as I recall, were something like "Pity, I kind of liked you."
Before I ramble on too far, let me close this up.
1) Had I had that encounter whilst actually trying to get somewhere, I'd have been more than happy with it.
2) If my unresponsive death spoiled if for you guys, my apologies.
Oh, and "I've got some civilian pilots, those are like food rations right?" - Kudos for that line, whichever one of you it was.
Please do not hang around Cadiz and run from a slave liner, jump to cambridge and then back to omega 5 and then telling him not to mess up with the phantoms - acutally you are the one who messed it up;)

Er.... nothing personal just a note (please let this self implode after reading)
i know we are relying on our local ISP but please refrain from PvP with a ping higher than about 200 - thanks:)
Puzzle is good - the incident with the HF legion near Manhattan and him hiding behind the battleship had me laughing, even.
I encountered the 3 others earlier, and won't name names. I observed them destroy multiple pretty much defenseless vessels just as they finished undocking from Pittsburgh, with no RP involved at all. Not even a declaration of hostile intent towards the mining ships etc., even. Just a load of supernovas/novas and the ship would explode in a matter of seconds. In between transports, they'd chase after my Arrow. Eventually, more Navy ships showed up and it was over quickly enough after that.
