' Wrote:I have an idea how to fix these problems altogether.
Going to create ID tags for all factions that were created before ID system was established, and add these tags for sale serverside (they won't be available for other servers). Phantoms already got their own ID. I believe AW has a right to get one too. If there will be other requests (Helghast?), I'm ready to listen.
As for ID system on the whole, I'll think about it.
Wouldn't that kill the entire idea of Roleplay?
Think about it, Phantoms have history. They are terrorist, Xenos, always will be that way because we know the members wont change there RP. We can trust them not to abuse there ID.
But what about the other factions? One day, there terrorist killing everything in site, the next day there helping Liberty? Why? Because there ID says they can, because well.... Its there Discovery Faction ID, then can do whatever they want with it. Just my oppion.
But, if this does happen. I might as well join in on it. As I won't abuse it. A Black Squadron ID would be nice, I beleave we were around before the ID system. And it can sold on Battleship Apophis, requires full Order Rep to buy. And maybe some of the other bases that will soon be in Omicron 100, as its our system I think it would make MUCH better RP then it being sold on Toledo or Isis.
Helghast would be interested in an offer of an ID.

(Really, I speak terrible English, so please, tell me if I make mistakes. I'd like to improve it a bit )
Hardcore factions which are direct reflections of their respective NPC factions wont need these new tags. But, if they come into being, only sell them on guard bases. Makes it alot harder for any one person to get it.
On the other hand, it may destroy the whole idea of RP, but it cant do as much harm as what has been happening recently.
If we do this, I agree that it should definitely be sold only in that faction's host's guard. (If they have one, not all factions have guard systems.)
Unfortunately, for AW we can't have it require full green with Zoner guard because.. Thats impossible to get. Double bribe gets you neutral and you can't get any farther than that, because there are no enemies..
Also, would we be submitting the descriptions we want on these, or are you going to make them, and what will the restrictions be on the IDs?
I'm not too fond of the idea of adding IDs for the player factions. But do support the idea of adding IDs to cover situations missed. My opinion should have IDs for matching the NPCs (BAF, Zoner, Planetform) and generic unassociated ones. The generics are perfect for groups not wanting the extra level of NPC association or when association isn't perfect. Example, the SF had RP stories making them neutral to the Corsairs, at the time we used the BAF ID but when the military ID was introduced, we could/should of switched to that since our rep although generally based on the BAF did have the difference. Since then the SF is now fully on track with the BAF ID.
Thus, groups using the NPC IDs would be expected to follow the relationships set out by the NPCs, while generics would have more freedom.
For generics we have at the moment (Likely missing a couple)
Military
Mercenary
Neutral
Pirate
Terrorist
Others that could be added
Outlaw
Police
Mobster
Corporation
Smuggler
Trader
Assassin
Explorer
Medic
Invader
Order based on general degree of lawfulness
Military, Police
Mercenary, Corporation, Trader, Explorer, Medic
Neutral
Pirate, Outlaw, Smuggler, Assassin, Mobster
Terrorist, Invader
The generics should be able to cover pretty much any group, and a faction could easily change from one ID to another depending on how their RP is going. Example SCRA at the moment could be an invader, eventually though that could change to Outlaw depending on how they're group interacts with the NPCs and other factions. If a faction doesn't fit any IDs in the general sense then would be a case of either "k, if you're not one of these than what are ya?" or "oops, ya we missed that one."
I tend to agree with Firebird... I'd rather see generic IDs used more than new IDs generated for each and every faction. That would be a maintenance nightmare.
Besides, generic IDs would be available to people outside of a faction. This would be very helpful for players who don't want to join a faction (player or NPC) and just be some flavor of freelancer.
