Energy efficiency and damage aren't all there is to it. And the majority of the people I know who used Krakens, then tried Wyrms said they hit a whole lot better with the Wyrms than they ever did with Krakens. Hit efficiency, factor that. I myself have tried both, and found Wyrms much better.

I tried using Krakens so many times and I just hated them... I do so much better with my Wyrms. And people are always like "You need some Krakens!"
Nerf them. Simple, They are simply to powerfull comapred to other faction guns.
Im not wininghere or nothing, just take a look at them yourselves:
2224 dps (quite a lot, almost like 3 refire codies, aint it?)
20 percent more shield dmg agianst most popular shield type (1334 shield dmg dps, quite a lot, bigger then some of the 3 refire codies)
Refire 4... as for such damage its a lot..
And looky look 700 m/s and 700 range... for only moderate energy drain. IF you think im wrong here, take a look at Xeno guns, looks fair to you?..
And even more, they are class 9, that means outcasts can put 7 of those on their sabres. You can say like 'it drains energy so fast" .. as well as it delivers sagificant amount of damage in very short time, and it is an advantage, besides no-one is holding pilot to turn off 3 krakens from 7 for a dogfight. Combined it with inferno, sabres even becomes suprame cap killers... 3 sabres can kill 2 liberty carriers, and its not hypothetical.
Opinions obviously vary...However, I'll throw my ring into the hat here. When I first came to Disco, I too set out to get the best ship, best weapons and what not... then it occurred to me...How bored I was becoming. Because I learned a very important lesson. That lesson is simple. At the end of the day, none of it matters. The pilot... is who makes the difference. Now, I know some of you are going "um... dude!"
Hear me out.
This is a RP server... so the emphasis is going to be on character development and interaction, not just PEW PEW PEW...right? PVP takes a solid backseat to RP. That is my understanding. So... it is the skills that the pilot uses in their character interaction in addition to their flying skills, correct? Besides, put a novice into an Uber ship totally decked out and that doesn't suddenly make THEM uber, does it?
So... I've found enjoyment in actually joining a faction, yes... I gave up my indi status and joined the Lane Hackers. I've also developed other characters that use equipment that is predictible given their respective roles and you know what? I'm having a ball. I am really enjoying myself. Am I uber? Nope... but I suspect I wasn't even when I wheeled and dealed codies and made excuses for my ship and equipment. Now I spend more time enjoying my interactions and less time defending myself.
Anyway... Just sharing my own experience. I leave the rest to you guys.

Antanas (Vilkas), Karolis and I killed 2 LNS Battlecruisers at the same time (they were both shooting at us at the same time)
One of that LABC had 2 flaks on his class 10 hardpoints. Imagine how it should be hard, but we make it cause of the krakens.

Mordrom, yes, pilot is the one wich makes the most diffrence in the fight. But anyhow. I believe is something about 2 (equipment) x 20 (skill) ... but here you have, if you improvo equipment a bit, it will drasticly change your overal fighting ability.
Yes its rp server. But its not the reason to keep things unbalanced and unfair in pvp. Besides, here are 3 types of people, who likes RP, who likes PvP more and balance between both. As for ones who likes PvP, a lot of them gives effort to give fun for RPers, and RP'ers should same try to give fun for ones who are more pvp orantied. Just simple understanding and solidarity. (damn I know some of pvp whores who roleplays even better than RP orantied players)
To sum it up, I think Krakens really needs to be looked after agian. I dont know, perhaps energy drain increase, or make it class 10 gun, that wouldn't allow sabres to mount all 7 of them on same ship. Its up for dev team to decide. But the situation we have now, well they are really overpowered.
