If a pirate is reasonable, they'll never have trouble from me. If their RP is good, they may get more than they ask for.
Funny. I had a brilliant encounter with 72 yesterday. One of the better ones I've had in a long time. I guess it doesn't like Zoners... From what I gathered it's got two contasting personalities. One is more personalised with emotions, that the Harvester unit created to better hate humans. The other is the Harvester itself which is, well... A Harvester.
The humanish personality's taken over, but the Harvester is trying to supress it. Hense the rebooting.
Kishiro miners got pulled over by a molly today. Bomber to make it worse. Maffic was no challenge for him, but he could not end the mining ship before we docked. We would have worked out some deal, but he wanted all the ore. I'm not keen on handing over 2k gold to someone who can't carry it.
That's where i draw the line of roleplay. If mollies want their gold they should make it a contraband for everyone than them, so then they could destroy it in space.
i dont support destroying things in space if there's no reason for it.
blowing up someones organs because you cant hold more is petty.
blowing up someones blood diamonds isnt' at all
blowing up military vehicles is necesary in rp
' Wrote:Easy question: Is piracy going to change, now that transports full with ore worth around 60 million credits are traveling the lanes? Will pirates demand taxes of 10 million credits from A-Trains filled with gold ore?
Cargo piracy doesn't work on miners, there is no sale location other than lawful bases as far as I know.
I have yet to be pirated while hauling ore (or pirate someone who does), but I'm curious how others handle this issue?
If we pirates are unable to sell your goods at either a neutral or unlawful base ... well ... guess you'll have to fork over the credits instead. And since you say the cargo is worth 60 mil for a full shipment ... we should not hear any complaints about 2 mil or more in demands ... right?
You are NOT exempt from piracy just because you're a miner. Since a miner cannot make sell on unlawful bases (as you say) ... then the miners MUST be servants of the lawfuls ... that makes them enemies worthy of destruction. Even if we don't get credits from you ... at least we'll get the satisfaction of destroying the cargo supporting the lawful side.
I'll force miners to fill my cargo and split before their runner returns.

Cannon and I've been pirating for cargo myself. Its spectacular fun and, to be brutally honest, few things are more delicious than coming across some git hauling the worth of three people's hour in an un-escorted transport.
Oh hello. I see you guys have been working awfully hard for that ore. Put it in a... Oh I see! Armorless transport without a friendly face in sight?
How lovely.
Help myself to the contents of your hold?
Yes, don't mind if I do. Thanks.
Mining. High profit. High risk.
The amount of money I have made thus far is almost embarrassing.
That being said it's for the fun and the good times back and forth not for imaginary money.
