You may like it, but apparently not enough to entice anyone to check it out, so it must not be worth the time...Like I said above, please guys, don't come in here to snipe a lazy +1
The Black Donnelleys The Black Donnellys follows the exploits of four young, working-class Irish brothers. Their involvement in organized crime in New York City will put their life at risk and they will do anything to protect each other from the hostility between them and the others New York families who want their territory.
Man, even TV.com makes this show sound like boring crap:angry:
Well trust me, it's not! The show was ganked by the network after about the 5th episode for low ratings, & they aired the rest online before eventually releasing the series out on DVD...What the idiots did was make a series of promo commercials that made it seem like the show was some emo teen drama that only teenage girls would want to watch. like this one here for example
If they aired their promos more akin to this here then it probably would have had the ratings from the type of audience it needed in order to survive
There's gotta be a lot going on in a crime drama for it to interest me. Lots of comedic relief, side stories, coughFemaleNuditycough, etc. Otherwise it just gets too stressful to really enjoy. New season of Sons of Anarchy is kind of on the edge of that right now for me.
NCIS: (Not NCIS: LA) It's like JAG meets Law & Order, minus the Courtroom segments and much funnier than both. It follows around a team of Criminal Investigators (obviously xD) One is a bit of a 'ladies man' and flirts with anything of the female kind, one is kind of a computery type, the team leader is an older guy and former Marine Corps. Sniper and an all around serious guy, There's a character who was part of the Mossad (the Israeli CIA basically) who winds up joining NCIS in the later episodes, and she's fairly funny but also fairly serious. Then there's the Goth-esque Forensics Examiner, she's usually pretty funny too. Last but not least is the teams Medical Examiner, he's an older British guy with a bit of that dry British sense of humor and an interest in things that nobody else on his team wants to hear, but I love hearing him ramble. xD
Sons Of Anarchy: Which was mentioned by Marburg earlier on, mainly follows "Jax", a member of the "Sons Of Anarchy" Motorcycle Club, Who also wants to change the way the Sons do things, this however puts him at odds with the 'Clubs' leader on quite a few occasions, in this season their other biggest problem is a group of Neo Nazi types who have moved into their town and are trying to push them out.
Weeds, series 1-5
Suburban mum sells weeds to pay bills
best line: 'everybody fingered celia and now shes in jail.' 'What, everybody fingered celia in jail?'
hmmm hadn't noticed that trend there. but very funny
I can't believe I've yet to mention Castle...what the hell is wrong with me??:$
Castle is an American comedy-drama television series, which premiered as a mid-season replacement on ABC on March 9, 2009. The series is produced by ABC Studios.
Nathan Fillion stars as Richard Castle, a famous mystery novelist who is initially called in to help the NYPD solve a copy-cat murder based on his novels. Stana Katic stars opposite as the young detective Kate Beckett. Following his encounter with Beckett, Castle decides to use her as the model for his next book series. He uses his contacts and receives permission to accompany Beckett while investigating cases. While technically a drama series, Castle also features comedy and romantic tension.
I just sat down to watch last nights episode, & the first thing they did, was work in a big overt 'Firefly' joke that had me yelling "HELL YEAH!!" at the screen like the big scifi geek I am.
Also, one of the ways they are promoting the show is effin brilliant.
Heat Wave, the novel the fictional Richard Castle wrote on in the series, is published by Hyperion. Written by an anonymous author under the name "Richard Castle", it is entirely in character from the dedication to the acknowledgments, although the latter references the principal cast and the show's creators by name. The first half of the novel is being released on the ABC website in weekly increments, but must be purchased to be read in its entirety. "Heat Wave" was released on September 29, 2009, and debuted at #26 on the New York Times Best Seller list. In its 3rd week on the list, Heat Wave broke into the top 20 at #11
Anyway, check the show out...it's really fun to watch:D
Ima happy camper cause I just learned last night that Merlin is back now for its second season.
Merlin is a British television drama series that began in 2008. It is based on the Arthurian legends of the mythical wizard Merlin and his relationship with Prince Arthur, but differs significantly from traditional versions of the myth. Produced by independent production company Shine Limited for BBC One, the programme was designed to run in the same Saturday evening family drama slot as other UK series such as Doctor Who and Robin Hood. The second series began airing on 19 September 2009
Beyond being just plain fun to watch, Merlin has the distinction of being the 1st UK show in decades to have a run on a major American network (cable networks don't count) Usually, American networks will purchase the rights to a program & then ruin it by rewriting & refilming the property with American actors with the notion that we won't like it or understand it in the programs original form.
While not entirely untrue, now that NBC reopened that door last season by airing Merlin's 1st season, I hope to see more direct imports coming our way.
From the makers of Spooks and acclaimed writer Tony Jordan comes this slick and stylish drama. An action-packed blend of humour and intrigue, following the fortunes of a gang of expert cons on the loose in London.
Hustle follows the fortunes of a gang of five expert con artists let loose on the streets of London. They are specialists in the way of the grifter and all are keen to liberate cash from the amoral and undeserving.
Each episode comprises of a main plot or 'long con' whilst also squeezing in some sub plots known as 'short cons'.
So far in its 5 season run, it had only one weak episode, & even that one wasn't too shabby. Check this one out & I guarantee that you will have multiple moments of punching the air yelling "Oh, Hell YEAH!" at the screen while grinning from ear to ear
Stargate Universe, NCIS Los Angeles and the occasional Spongebob. Planning to watch Gundam (the original), Dragonball Kai (The DBZ remake) and Bionicle: The Legend Returns.
Alrighty! I've been waiting for this, & finally, "V" made its premiere tonight here in the states...& I gotta tell ya, being a childhood fan of the original, I was hooked in the 1st 5 minutes, & very happy with the new version so far.
In a nutshell, the world wakes up one morning to discover they are not alone in the universe as a fleet of giant alien motherships spread out & position themselves above every major city in the world. They claim to be in desperate need of water, & because earth is a waterworld, they hope we will help them out...in return, they offer peace & friendship, along with advanced technology & medical knowledge.
Problem is, they are actually evil lizard people in disguise, & the series focuses on the Human uprising against them.

Ahhh! V remake! That's good news. I loved the original all those years ago. Can't wait til that gets onto DVD across the pond. I never bother watching these things when they're shown on TV 'cos I always end up missing episodes.
Two series that I'm really enjoying over here are FlashForward and True Blood. I love the way True Blood comes at you from left field.
