The Joker is the best RPer in this entire community. Streets ahead of any other ive seen , in game and on the Forums. Anyone can make up a mixture of names and portray that char as they and they only see fit..But playing an actual Character, and doing it as good as the Joker does it ,is alot harder to do ...and he does it perfectly.

I disagree there, first, because you have not seen all the characters in the server, I can tell you from being witness of Salazar Kithe's role play, that he's one of the most awesome characters around.
Second, no offense to the joker, but he's is adapting another person's character. He didn't create it from 0, he took The Joker from the Dark Knight and he's adapting it here. Of course, I like his/her work on the forum, and the time that he invest on editing his posts, I'd love to have that patience. Also, space ships are not cheap.

You can see, that I don't like roleplaying characters based on characters.

Do I use them? Er... yes.

I've only got the one copied character, being Randall Flagg. I originally had the idea that he was the same Randall Flagg from Stephen King's novels, and not simply based off of him. After all, it's not too far-fetched that he'd be here in Sirius, with what King has revealed about him.

But I've come to realize just how wrong that was. To think I even posted a story for him, stealing several things from the books he was in... I'm still working out just how I'm going to change this character. I'd like to keep many of the same traits, since Flagg is such an awesome villain, but change the name and story. I'm certainly not going to give him the magic powers that he has in The Dark Tower, in any case. Magic is a big no-no.

I must confess to my Misaka Mikoto being one of those adorable anime girls spoken about previously. Her personality and appearance have been copypasta'd over and with the addition of yuri-goggles she has been amalgamated into the crew of the Alsatia.

Hm.....I could have sworn I have seen that Anime Character before. My brother is basicly a anime freak always dling them sometimes I watch them. I believe it was .......something index (sorry can't remember the name:)) also in a spin off of it too whatever that was called (think it was something to do with a railgun??). Thats what you were talking about though???

Sometimes I use characters names as a joke and a little of RP fun, trying to rp Characters like Legolas and Aragon are always fun never tried to RP them in a space game though....hm I might try that and you are probly wondering why I disapprove well that is because only people who lack creativity would use them It is not that hard...come on guys just put 2 names together like Edward Gravy...see how hard was that???

There are two anime. To Aru Majutsu no Index and To Aru Kagaku no Railgun. There is a light novel, manga and Drama CD, but I do not really care much for them.

(Railgun is currently being broadcast.)

I'd form characters from examples of other, like the recklessness of Tyler Durdan, the laid back attitude of Dante for Valentine...

Agreed, just a lack of imagination. I'd prefer people to think of their own RP type/backround rather than just copy someone elses from a book/film, names maybe, but not personalities.
