You killed a Junker. A person considered to be a filth on the face of the universe by the corporate-oriented Liberty. Would they care? No, they would not.
' Wrote:terrorists have to seem scary. We kill one person and we run away. A fun fact about terrorism: you don't actually have to kill multitudes of people or be a badass, you just have to pretend you are. So, we kill a civilian, and we escape from the Navy. That is scary, isn't it? I think it's scary, and that's the point of terrorism; to be scary.
Next time fly away.
Sovok, I hate to say it but he's right. Now, I know this still comes as a surprise to some Junkers. The reason being is that some time ago a Phantom hacked the Junker Congress message dump and made the statement that if we left them alone, they would leave us alone. Since that happened, they decided to change this policy. I'm still waiting for an official explanation as to why.
At the same time I really don't care. They are nasty and dangerous and the game just wouldn't be any fun if there weren't any characters who fit that mold. My advice is to stay far away from them and get your salvage elsewhere.

Right. Well, my character is not affiliated with the Congress in any way other than being a Junker himself. I couldn't figure out if that truce applied to the Congress only or to all Junkers, but it's irrelevant anyway, since I knew they were my enemy. Yes, it was stubborn of me to think that I would be safe in such a situation, that is why I did attempt to slowly leave the area. I sure didn't expect to be a priority target in a conflict where Outcasts, mercs, independent pirates, BHG, Libertonian authorities and Phantoms were present.
One thing I didn't mention: I was told that I am one of the Junkers which the Phantoms won't shoot by another Phantom earlier that day. Though I was sure that wouldn't last long, it gave me at least a few seconds of confidence afterwards.
HeavyMetalQueen Wrote:The rest of the Junkers certainly would, another point of terrorism: send a message to your enemies.
You don't actually have to show up in the heart of Liberty to terrorise Junkers. Especially not right near a military installation. Blow up a Junker transport near a Junker installation or Junker ships, then they might notice that one (indy) was lost in the infinite space.

The first warnings made me realise I was in fact a target. Ten seconds afterwards, I was dead. Never had the chance to respond.

Noted.

It's a shame that you can't actually see anyone but lolcaps, Nomads and Phantoms in Liberty. I was hoping for some RP, knowing that the faction is consistant of experienced players and that we did RP earlier that day, but you made me realise I was the one who made the mistake. Sorry for whining here.

What Hawk was trying to get at was that the Junkers have crossed us one too many times, taunting us, making threats, coming to exact revenge on ones that have attacked us. To be honest, the Junkers are a great tool for destroying to base of the Houses, however, they aren't so useful as to ignore the grievances they have made against us. As a whole, we are attacking Junkers to make an example of them. Don't anger the Phantoms, otherwise you'll find yourself on the wrong end of a very long gun.
This is basically what we did to you, only on a much larger scale. In killing you, we are warning everyone else not to mess with us. From the Navy to the Outcast, the BHG to the Pirates, don't screw with the Phantoms, otherwise your ship will become scrap.

Words are cheap. I can give someone as many words as they want. Are they always true? In my case, they're almost never true in-RP. I don't know who told you that, but, apparently it isn't true. They seem to have done the trick, though.

I warned you very early in our interaction, I think. I do believe "The Eidelon seems to have setup a date between you and this ship." is a very clever warning of impending doom. If you had ran when I said that, I wouldn't have been able to kill you quick enough. With armor, one mortar won't do the trick, and if not for Ze'ev, I would have had to drain myself past being able to fire two.
Simply put, it's a consequence of RP that you died. It's your character's confidence and curiosity that killed you. There were two or three Navy and LSF following Ze'ev that just stopped short when they saw me in the Huntress. That should have told you something.

You're disappointed because your idea of what is "acceptable" RP is quite different from ours. I know that sounds elitest and whatever, but, it just is. You wanted us to talk for an hour and then go skipping into the sunset on Planet Denver. Like Zelot said, RP isn't just long lines of beautifully worded script, but it is also who you kill and how you kill them. We knew we weren't going to win, and so we chose to be terrorists and kill what we could. Not to mention a few of our gang have a particular hate of Junkers, being Kusari.
