So I spent 2.5 hours mining and almost had a full load of cargo, a lot of time and work put into it when all of a sudden you have been disconnected. I log back on and ALL my cargo is gone, at first I thought maybe I was the only one who D/Ced and I died. But I was in the same place with full ammo so I ruled that out. Wondering if this could be fixed and if it's possible to get the cargo back?

Not without the sourcecode and a rewrite of FLServer. Cargo hold contents are held in memory while you are in flight. Hold contents aren't saved in the character file on the server untill you dock, or log of the server in space thereby triggering a character file save.
If the server crashes while you are in flight, anything you have picked up since you undocked from your last port of call is lost, since a crash means that any character file saving routines aren't triggered. Thats why it is called a crash.
Live with it.

If it's taking you more than an hour to fill your hold, you're doing it wrong*
PM for info.
*depends on mining area

No, seriously, the FLServer does, as TheMillers said, all sorts of stuff it expects you to remove of before you log out in memory. Therefore things like cargo will go poof when the beast crashes. You make a LOT of cargo gains when you shoot rocks. Imagine the server having to save your character file up to a couple times per second. Ouch.
Alright so now all my cargo is gone again. I was mining minding my own business well actually I had just finished giving some money to a pirate when I started mining again with in 5 seconds of mining I blew up.
Here is a screenshot of what happened:
Anyway I'm kinda confused as it said I was cheating which I wasn't so I'm at a loss of what to do. Azure.Grypon told me he would be my witness as well. I'm curious as to why this happened and if I can get my 2,000 units of cargo back.
I seem to recall having read that there still are some minor bugs with the mining mod, and I think you might have been hit by one of those. Where and what where you mining ?
Oh, and more importantly :
/summon Cannon.
