Definitely escorts worth the money. I like to hire new players in small ships, since scouting is the only thing they can do (besides missions). This way they can explore Sirius a bit, learn interesting trade loops, earn good money and of course learn the escort business. This also let us time to RP and doing so I tell them Sirius lore and rules. Eventually if things go well, I even add some to my regular escort list. Raising one's personal army is part of the fun:D

I see many people say so but I don't agree. From my personal experience many pirates have poor RP, some lower your shield preemptively, but I met a douche only once. Plus, there is a fair amount of RP pirates as well.

Try me. I've taken down Montezuma's Shire in my Waran on my own, without touching my nanobots (and only using my shield bats once). I've always wanted to take on another Shire to see if that was a fluke, or if I can actually replicate that.
