All fine and dandy, Malaclypse...

I'm just saying that while you are on your shopping spree and outside your jurisdiction, you must not lay chase to criminals.

Moral of the story: If I cannot pirate outside my regional systems, you cannot attack pirates outside your jurisdiction. Read this as balance.

Pirates, in the traditional sense, ranged far and wide following the trade lanes where they led, treasure or blood. In addition, most thought outside the box due to lack of resources and less inhibition found in international niceties.

*shiver* Jurisdictions were only recognized by nations, and rarely at that, hehehehe:)

Yes, but on the other hand, a single Rogue wouldn't bitch and moan for getting attacked/pirated by Blood Dragons, specially in Kusari if he had valuable cargo on. A viable target, an isolated incident - the heads of the faction would threaten each-other a little and that's it. Wrong place, wrong time. Same for a Blood Dragon/Pirate ID carrying 500 Bounty Hunter pilots in his hold being pirated in Omicron Alpha, what the hell was he doing with those in Alpha in the first place?

If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God? - from 'Nightfall' by I. Asimov
The Outcasts consider Siniestre Nube a sacred place for several reasons. Early explorers discovered a jumphole within the depths of the cloud that leads to a strange world of ringed stars and strange craft. All ships in the burrial ground are placed facing that hole to honor the Alien Spirits. - An Outcast rumor

My primary trade as a pirate is moving slaves to the highest bidder. I capture civilians for the Monkeys on Primus. I bring in bounty hunters for the Mollys in Dublin. I ferry Corsairs to the Outcast in Alpha. There's lots of cash to be made from those I capture. I generally dump all other cargo.

Regarding my Nayehiya being attacked/pirated by a couple NovaPG. Our clans are GREEN to each other. Its equivalent to RM being attacked by Bs|. Don't really expect that RP to work if they are allied. But anyway - that's difference between clan relations and faction relations.

Don't forget the NovaPG, in difference to the RM are PIRATES. Pirates pirate. Whoever they find suitable.

But even pirates have friends. Note that the Generic Pirate is the only ID that has no allies and many enemies. Liberty Rogues are specifically allied with Outcast, Molly and Lane Hackers. In fact, most pirate factions are allied with the Outcast. The one thing they have in common is that they are the downtrodden rejects of their systems. They are the ones who are oppressed by their governments and forced to live in exile. They are more than just pirates for cash, they are also freedom fighters and revolutionary soldiers.

Being a pirate does not automatically mean everyone is a target. Pirates tend to share their loot. Some history of pirating in the Americas proves that they were among the first true democracies. Pirate ships were notoriously democratic. Every member of the crew had a say in what missions to take on. And many ships roamed together to take on larger targets. After the battle, the pirates would take the loot and divide it amongst themselves - and typically spent it faster than they took it.
