Austin shook his head, chewing on the tough piece of meat. "I honestly don't know." He said after, swallowing the chewed up food. "I honestly don't have a clue as to what our plan of action is now. No source has been successful, and that old man on the Communications a few hours ago has me baffled."
He glanced over at Aleski, then slowly looked past him into the next room. He glared hard at the spot where the lass was hiding, yet didn't see anything. He shook his head and looked down at his food quickly, and grabbing another bite to eat before looking up to see Rockwell giving him a questioning glance. "I thought I heard something shuffle in the room next door. Though I believe they were just rats."
"Anyways, as I said. I don't know. I'm at a loss at what to do. I don't want to go on a random goose chase and return to Bretonia empty handed. We need to get Lieutenant Taylor back, whether she's alive or dead. At least we'd be seen as heroes." He finished, finally stuffing the next bit of food into his mouth. Another minute went by and he glanced over towards where he was looking at before and shook his head.
You'd think the rats would be dead... He thought, and after a few seconds, his thoughts transversed into a conversation topic.
"Aleski," He said, looking past the lad, "Did you see any bloody rats when you were exploring?"
Goodman's inquiry brought the young pilot out of his deep reflection and back into the real world. He looked at his former superior with a slight look of surprise.
"Huh? Rats... I haven't seen any, no. How could there be rats here anyways?"
