For me, this is the biggest. I've never had too many problems with NPCs. They can be an annoyance, but sometimes, I love just bustin' a few up. I'd really miss them if they were removed.
I just had my first real pvp encounters today and agree that the npc's were quite anoying but at the same time the bounty hunter npc's were helpful in getting me a good rep with the rogues when I first started my character. Also they do make space less lonely.
Solution:Go back to original freelancer config for npc's to where they don't spawn in battles and have less encounters.
Quote:- Because we have many more NPCs now, even with 180 players, I will speak to the devs about possibly reducing the number or strength of NPCs in some systems.
This can be done without a mod update.

Cannon, is it possible to alter the patrol routes or something ?
The specific issue I'm refering to is mostly NPCs demanding cargo in... odd places, from NPCs hitting up people just outside of a Freeport (in the case of my Zoner char's, mostly bhunter NPCs wanting my 'contraband' the instant I undock, with the yes/no screen poping up just as the undock cutscene ends).
Remove SNACs from Gallic bomber patrols and I will <3 you forever. Gallia would be so much better without them. If you're even willing to consider it, I think I still have my technically-not-a-dissertation on why they should be removed somewhere...

Same thoughts here.
That, and if you want more, tone down the individual power of each one.
