You wake up in the morning... its a Monday, you hate Mondays.
With much displeasure you get into your transport and fly off to deliver your daily cargo yield of Oxygen to the outer colony stations. On your journey you receive your monthly bill from your ex-wife that forces you to pay alimony. You are then met by a unnamed pirate that is waiting on the Lane. The pirate forces you to stop and opens fire destroying the vessel and taking everything in the cargohold. The pirate then tractors in the dead body and takes any money you ever had.
For any of us pirates who give a damn about rp.....um no.
Just no.
You really think I make any money pirating? You honestly think I look for pvp when I'm pirating?
I run at the first sign of a lawful usually, as THERE IS NO PROFIT IN PVP, and INRP, my pirate char should care about profit (even though, they make little to nothing because I'm not an OOC prick).
I PIERAT FOR RP. PERIOD.
I can't be any more clear about this....
Not all pirates suck man....stop lumping us into the same group.
' Wrote:Ok, let me calculate something:
You have 150mil ship
Pirate aks for 50mil to let you live and keep ship.
inRP ship does not respawn! and there is no isnurance company that will pay 150mil to you because you refused to pay 50.
On the other hand even when just calculating your profit. If you have 5000 cargo full of ore, it can worth more then 50mil and requesting 50 mil is like requesting part of cargo.
So why would that be in any way sanctionable? Only sanctionable demand would be 2milrdai and nothing less
See your wrong lad. Unfair/unfun demands is against rules. It has been sanctioned in the past, as it is looked at as an excuse to PvP.
Also you are not going to get any trader give you 50 mil ever! All you are looking for is PvP.
Go ahead and read back in sanctions. You will find a few for less then 50 mil. Look up rule 1.0 also while you are at it.
I appreciate that the sc'¦ I mean pirates have a job to do although I believe there are too many of them and where are the COPS. We're talking jump lanes ' the cops should leave those doughnuts alone and do some patrolling.
I think the real key issue is to keep it fun for both. To demand a ridiculous rate is self defeating as pilots will rather die and avoid you even more or become the law in revenge. I've met a few nice pirates which was actually fun and worth paying for the experience. They were rather Robin Hood like, but I'm quite sure they don't give the money to the poor.
Keep new flyers in mind and help them with the trade window thing.
