That means any chatting between them and their targets is kept to a minimum in order to collect the kill without problems and move on.
That means they won't be chatting you up much and will likely approach you, tell you why they are about to blow you up, then blow you up. In the past they might offer you a way to avoid the death by bribing them. Those days however ended when someone sanctioned two mercenaries over word play.
This is a role play server. The Hunters and Mercs are role playing their part. The problem? Most of their targets don't like being blown up so they cry that the Hunters/Mercs aren't role playing.
There are many ways to keep Hunters/Mercs off your back. Hire them yourself. Pay another Merc/Hunter to kill the ones that bother you. Don't be stupid and stumble into areas you know they frequent. Report them to the authorities (if you are lawful and they are not) if they are breaking the law so that the law can also send its guns after them.
Instead of doing any of the above, you come here and cry. Such is our way of life no?

I have not shot a great many Mercs/freelancers that RP'd with me after i demanded they leave. Most just yell you cannot shoot me,or i will report you to high command, and guess what a few even put Biger Bounty's on my Navy guard. At last count 57 million total between all 3. Which just makes me kill even more Lawful hunting dreg's. It just keeps escalating, and i am perfectly fine with that. Several other Indies have taken my lead, and we all join in on the gank squad just like the Merc gank squads. becoming quite fun,and chaotic.

Pirates doesn't make reasonable demands.
If you are really getting pirated 5-6 times on a route, you're stupid. I am sorry, I dont mean to be insulting, but I am going to. If you got pirated 5 times on a route and you went back and tried to do that route again, there is really no other words for that action. I trade, and recently I have been trading alot, I very very rarely get pirated. I do trade in Liberty from time to time, that is when I am usually most aware, but in general, I am always aware of my surroundings, I always checking the lanes in front of me, and if I think there might be someone along the lane, I cruise.
I know miners are going to say how there is only one place to sell their stuff, and while that may be right, you are still stupid if you are getting pirated in the amount you describe. I mine gold and I rob gold miners alot. You know whats funny about it? I never see the ore movers taking any route beside straight down the lanes through the Omegas. You know why my ore never gets pirated? I dont take that route. There may only be one place to sell the ore, but there are many, many ways to get there.

If thet offered any sort of RP at all, I would be happy.. even If i end up dead ..
" you're born and die, theres a bit in the middle called RP " - I sould have that as my quote...

actually no.. I thought I made it clear that all I wanted was some sort of decent RP from Merc's.. In my opinion, if a post is made ending in " I hate Disco Im quitting " then I would say it was a Q_Q thread..

Of course I'm not going to come back using the same way, I was talking of something like a NY > NL route. You can avoid a bunch of thems, but not all.
The 12 times pirated happened during last year summer, the time where disco is invaded and always full:PI wasn't an expert trader at that time but it was the same behavior that half the traders have.

Sorry to say that but I agree with Zealot. if you get pirated 5 times on NY>NL lanes you are pretty bad trader. Don't take it as insult and I will give you advice. Hire the damn escort! If you weren't cheapskate you would pay 5 millions to escort and be fine. But all traders will rather get 5 times pirated than hire that escort. I don't see point in your posts because you have options how to avoid it.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Liberty bounty only covers pirates caught in the act of piracy.
If you were not doing so and indeed do carry a generic pirate ID, the people who attacked you were liable to a sanction. (It's happened in the past).

edit: You are misinformed. The mercenaries were sanctioned for explicitly demanding credits which was prohibited by their ID. Bribery is still a viable option, however holding a gun to someone's head and saying "Pay or die" lacks the subtlety of a bribe.
Who would have thought that killing for money required such sophistication?

Your opinion of what is decent role play differs from mine.
Your opinion of what is decent role play differs from his.
Your opinion of what decent role play is differs from hers.
Your opinion of what decent role play is differs from theirs.
In my opinion the Hunter/Merc performed his role as his role is laid out, meaning I feel he role played it as he should have.
You don't share that opinion because he didn't chat you up. His role play is not to chat with you. His role play is to tell you why he is about to shoot you, then shoot you. Very cut and dry.
Could he have chatted with you? Sure, but doing so usually results in his job becoming harder or impossible to do, thus they don't do it regularly.
You wouldn't expect a trader, a pirate, a smuggler, or even the law to operate in that capacity would you?
A trader doesn't enter a system and say:
"I have gold ore, I'll be taking the trades lanes between point a and b. I suppose if I was stopped by a pirate we could have a chat."
That isn't what the trader's role play is. His role play is to get from point A to B without losing cash/cargo/vessel. As players its nice to have interaction with other players so some times some of us tip the other side off to get it, but we aren't doing so in role play, we are doing it out of role play as a player.

Decent rp from mercinary is that you end up being killed at the end. They aren't there to tell your personal woes or discuss politics. They say why they are there, who are paying for your head, and if you are lucky will ask "any last words?" or "any last wish?"... and then you go pew pew with him.
If he's a good mercinary he will kill you. That's merc RP - they kill people.
Besides think yourself. If you job would be killing people, would you like to know who you are killing? or make it personal? I think that would make things even harder. Treating people as objects and not as subjects is a bit easier. hell that's how surgeons works. They only see piece of meat on the operational table instead of a man, becouse in that way it's easier to work
And yes, it's obviuos Q_Q "I died from merc" thread.
