We should since other communities are developing the freelancer as well. Keep in mind that we all should strive to make every game better, it just happens that Discovery has most players.
Quote:Although many mods for freelancer have been made, none have been as rancid as Discovery and Crossfire. But Discovery is the worst because, unlike most mods, you have to adhere to a strict moral standard of gayness called roleplay.
Quote:Everyone on it is required to roleplay like a whiny little bitch about everything, despite the fact that 99% of people who play there don't want to. People only play there because they haz the biggezt serverz.
Quote:Playing discovery typically consists of roleplay followed by pew pew. Here's a sample:
* Joly good day sir, I am moving some fertilizers to planet California Minor
* Stop
* Excuse me? I am a representative of the royal crown
* 2 mill or die
* Perhapse you should not be so testy about.....
* you die
As you can see, the veteran roleplayer who obviously has no life or girlfriend just got a missile up his ass from a l33t kiddie who is being a pirate to boost his self esteem. Bravo.
The roleplayer will now go whine on the official forums that life is unfair and that his alternate lifestyle is causing him pain.

Seriously - if it weren't for Microsoft, we wouldn't be able to play the game in the first place, because it wouldn't be here. Yet every other comment about Microsoft is how mean and rotten they are. And as much as you bad mouth them, 90% of the PC's in the world run Microsoft products.
As for the community - realistically, the Discovery mod is what's keeping Freelancer alive more so than any other mod. Again, whether your perception is good or bad, it's still the reality of it.
actually if microsoft was out of the picture... freelancer probably would have been a better game.

Yep, It was because of Microsoft (I think) which is why they were pressed on time, so they delivered half of the game. Imagine if they had brought all that they promised us ? :O
btw. Stop Bashing Microsoft, They are still more successful than you, so silence!. ;)
basically without the draco rule set its pure chaos
about after a million and one deaths of course...things get alot more interesting than before the chaos
"whether man ought to be ruled by god`s law..or by the whims of a dictator like rammses"
(best quote i could think of right now...mind my slight spelling errors...and no i didnt mean to offend any alternate people out there....cause as genghis khan said "no man knows which god is more powerfull than the other..so let each man pray in peace")
i mean normally critical mass theory works well with everything by default...but the situation here makes it more complicated than it should be
but im guessing as hoodlum or agmen mustve personally witnessed...almost anything and everything has been tryed to cause disruption in the disco community that can be tryed
in this case...look not inward towards yer players but outwards towards other people as the threat....i mean cause by logic if you silence one threat to make yerself the only variable....another variable will come to balance you out....so im guessing that since the guillotine+conveyor belt thing was invented in the sanctions subsection....that it will most likely involve a threat that agmen has given little thought too...
who knows it might just come from the people who originally made freelancer in the first place..or the people that holds the rights too it
i gurantee you with so many possibilitys already exhausted its only a matter o time before something comes up or someone does somethign stupid that gets disco on the rack
(please note that microsoft officially stated in a press release that the reason why they limited the scope of the original freelancer was that they felt.. that the original digital anvil team wasnt up to it...that is..digital anvil bit off more than they could chew...)
and thats because of that...think clearly for a moment...we could also possibly benefit by asking microsoft for an evaluaton?....because clearly we can get alot more done faster than the original digital anvil team could....so if we can do it...why not speak to microsoft about it?maybe this way they would let igiss get his non-existent ethearal hands on the source code
