ive been by that nomad city in newcastle, and shot down about 4 of that (in SP version) shield generators, but nothing happened so i left... it does raises questions on what a nomad base is doing so close to House space without having nomads around and stuff....
maybe there could be a RP event started to raid the place but than it has te be destroyable...
"War. War never changes. Since the dawn of human kind, when our ancestors first discovered the killing power of rock and bone, blood has been spilled in the name of everything, from God to justice to simple, psychotic rage."
It could become like a hotspot for when you're in the mood for a mini civil war - if there's gonna be nomads, there's gonna be fighters from all over Sirius (imagine fighting nomads AND other players at the same time...).
Hell, imagine how much fun it would be to arrive there and two factions are battleling it out whilst figthing of the nomads at the same time !!:yu:
Oh and.. Could nomad BS patrols heve nomad cruisers instead of gunboats? I mean, those ships look awesome compared to gunboats and are seen definitely too rarely.
And one more complaint from me: Will Cambridge Rsch station ever come up with some results after all this time and thousands of nomad brains delivered? Some new, elaborate infocards, maybe one or two new pieces of equipment? (new shield type/ new scanner etc.)
Nomads are simply being neglected a bit. They could make an alien civilization, interracting with humanity on a much wider basis than just Hollywood kill all-type jelly aliens. Not talking about dockable bases, missions, nomad tags, but perhaps creating a series of systems, owned by the nomads and resembling one of the human houses. (they do have a station, jumpgate and weapon platform model.)
Nah, methinks it's just there for looks. I do think it would be better for them to make the Newcastle Nomad City the new Administrator Base, though... the BSG should be allowed their place of origin again.

Heh, the lost battlestar as BSG home base... Sweet dreams. Both it and the nomad city would look good as admin bases. Far from anything, weird-looking... But I don't think anyone would want to set up a whole new working base. The nomad city as "dockable" would require a lot of work. Not to mention moving the admin goodies.
Nevertheless, in a long long time in a galaxy far far away... Maybe...
