btw i was Smeagle, trailing the navy from behind.
I didnt think we could win, so I called for a jump and scatter retreat. We had been flying for like 4 hours at that point. We had lots of kills and lots of fun interactions, as well as getting cursed at. It was a good night, which included no losses, we wanted to keep it that way, there was no way my cruiser and 3 fighters were taking on 3 cruiser and a bunch of snub craft. We left with no losses, just how a group with limited resources should operate.

I was gonna help you guys though!:P
Ya, i understand what you mean though. Four hours and no losses, nice.
One other thing. Snub craft? Not all of them my friend. I talked to one of the guys who were in that group, and he was no snub.
Well, I thought it was interesting interacting with you. I fought Jaracara before which was pretty fun and it was also fun trying to co-ordinate everyone in Texas and what not.
Also, Death, what he means by Snubcraft are fighters and bombers. Not pilots who are snubs.
Thanks guys, yea, we had alot of fun over an extended period of time, which is more often than not, not the case when the Phantoms go out. We ran into some people that were meh, but most tonight were alot of fun to deal with, and alot of fun to interact with. Thanks to all the folks we came into contact with, those who died, and the few who lived to tell the tale.
also, special thumbs up to two of our newer members who were out there with us, Shazbot and Shagodad, who both were awesome and have been great additions to the the team.
I had a strange encounter with a Phantom yesterday. Name isn't important. He attacked my Sentient Machine unit, claiming that it is of Junker origin. The Sentient Machine Alliance [SMA] is an official faction with AI ID and Junker IFF, however, we are more likely to be originating from the zoners than the Junkers. We were granted the use of the Junker IFF only because of the current game mechanics tied to our playstyle.
I can't expect everyone to know every Official faction there is, its easy to forget even if you do. However, I'd like to formally request that you take this information into consideration the next time the phantoms interact with the SMA. You might remember that the Coalition used to have Xeno tags (but they were not Xeno) and that the Colonial Remnant used to have IMG tags, yet they were not miners. We are not junkers, yet we use their tag because of the convenient rules that come with it. (until / if we get our own tag one day)
Important notes:
1) I'm not complaining about the attack. He had every right to attack and destroy me.
2) When i was explaining that i was not built by Junkers, I didn't try to force him to stop attacking, i just wanted him to remember that small segment of our roleplay.
3) The SMA are aware of the Phantoms, and even though we never actually attempted to wage war against them, all units are considering them hostile and are attempting to avoid conflict.
All I'm asking is that you stop calling us Junkers.
The thing I was most displeased about was the OORP line of that individual, telling me to "watch my IFF"
Please be considerate, and a bit more professional.

I have always assumed someones tag to be "inrp" as I conseder it an IFF, much like todays planes need a Freind or Foe signal coming from them, so do ships in Siruis. Your tag say Junker, untill such time as we have reason to think otherwise, that is how I would treat you.
Beyond that, why do the SMA need an IFF at all, why not just go blank? Is it these conveinent exemptions to the rules you that you mentioned in your post? But you really have to understand, as long as you are broadcasting Junker, even if it is just to get a better set of rules for you to follow, people are going to see that IFF, and connect you to the Junkers, and they should, because if you are broadcasting Junker IFF, you are in some way connected to the Junkers.
Lastly, I find it a bit suspect that new rules were made in the faction creation process to stop factions using ID's that dont fit them to, that people only use for the benifit of the rules, instead of for rping that faction, maybe that should be a sign that you shouldnt use an IFF if your rp is not connected to that faction.

I fully agree with you!! Most of the SMA faction does!!
We don't want the bloody Junker TAG, it would be a lot easier if we had our own or none at all. However, we were required to choose a tag to become an official faction. The Junker TAG just happened to be the closest thing.
Official rules insist that we use a tag, and we cannot avoid them even if it would make things a lot easier, so please bare with us.
BTW. that signature of yours looks great, who made it?

You may want to consider a freelancer tag instead then, it would resovle the problem of people identifing you as Junkers.
And Serpentis did the Reaver Sigs for us, and yes they are awesome. He does really good work.
Hey guys. Earlier today I was in a group of mixed Kusari lawfuls tracking down phantoms. We were on our way to kyushu, but uh, my whole power went down.. So i didn't get there in time to see the phantom cruiser in full action, just to see it 'splode. Anyways! I just wana say, good job pitchfork and duhm (something like that). Although i'm still a bit curious as to why pitchfork went for the cloud just to stop and fight more. :/
