In no particular order:
  • Doom/Heretic/Hexen/Strife
  • Duke Nukem 3D
  • Unreal
  • Unreal Tournament (aka UT99)
  • Quake I/III
  • Outcast
  • Flashback: The Quest for Identity
  • StarCraft
  • WarCraft (all except for WoW)
  • Dungeon Keeper I/II
  • Deus Ex
  • System Shock I/II (got to play BioShock)
  • Syndicate/Syndicate Wars
  • Command & Conquer (all except for Generals)
  • Descent (all)
  • Star Control 2
  • Freespace 1/2
  • Wing Commander
  • Crusader: No Remorse/No Regret
  • Jazz Jackrabbit :-)
But beside all mentioned above there are two games that I believe had great impact on me.

Planescape: Torment
Storywriting is where this game stands above all else ever made so far. Filled with unique characters and smart dialogs, puzzling situations and life dilemmas, Planescape: Torment is the game of many sides. In the cage-sity, the Sigil, there is a place for everything from everywhere, often mixed up resulting in truly bizzare situations, sometimes humorous, sometimes so deep that you'd think about even after completing the game. It's a great story that you explore not only until the very end of game but after that in your own imagination. Until I played PS:T I never thought the gaming media might not only come up to the level of serious storytelling but also exceed it with freedom of choice. Another thing I like about it is the music accompanying player through the journey, it may be repeatable and annoying at times but in right moments it really helps the game, like theme at the Fortress of Regrets. Planescape: Torment is a masterpiece.

Albion
Unlike PS:T it's a relatively unknown game, developed by the thalion group of amiga's ambermoon/amberstar fame. I don't even know what makes it so unique for me, perhaps it's the atmosphere of the alien world. It's interesting how a game with somewhat old graphics still makes the gameworld so believeable unlike any of those modern games with latest technology. But there is no magic: it's one of those rare gems that turns on your imagination to the max while you play along. While not anywhere near PS:T the Albion delivers solid story on a level close to the classics of sci-fi novels.

Well, that'll be it. No new games in the list. As for Freelancer itself... To be honest I expected more from it, perhaps that is the reason of a certain dissapointment with it, but on the other hand it's a great game if you weren't expecting what developers were promising, too bad for me because I did.

I made a post here a Lonnnggg time ago, but I remembered a game my daughter and I loved to play....

...The Never hood... It wasn't the best game playing or best graphics, .... But to sum it up, it was just weird. Great storyline, Great music, and one heck of a brain teaser. if you ever come across it, get it and try it!..

#1 Freelancer | The first space sim I ever had any real fun playing.Controls are great and it has an awesome community.:D

#2 Vampire the Masquerade:Bloolines | Most fun RPG I ever played.Great atmosphere in fact the best of any game I've played to date.It had many bugs in the beginning. But even after Trokia folded, players stepped up and continue to release patches adding lost content even today. There isn't that much you can mod with it except skins, though there is hope with the SDK finally being released.:yahoo:

#3 EVE Online | I've invested over eight months in this game and I'm still having fun playing it.Really enjoyable despite a few annoying glitches that pop up,like the whole "crash to desktop upon exiting the station" could use less of that.
