Had a Talarca before, 1 on 1 could take down any other cruiser/destroyer without much trouble (one huntress I'd beat 3 times in a row without any repairs.)

Now have a Kusari desroyer. Same thing. Only that this time, I can fire most guns forward only.

8 threads over the span of a month. What a mortal sin, eh? After seeing the responses many questions get on these boards I do ask with reluctance, i do use the Search "feature". Try a Search for "ID List" or "list of IDs", and search for "compare destroyer" or "good destroyer" or "best destroyer" or "destroyer opinion" and tell me if you find a remotely contemporary thread to answer my two most recent questions.

If you really want a chuckle you can read my flood of 8 threads and note that in one of them I started off asking people if there was a trick to searching for word1+word2 rather than the phrase "word1 word2". Maybe you can help me out there?

Being a total cap-ship noob i'd prefer my first experience in something beyond a VHF or a Transport be a cap ship with a forgiving nature. Knowing why people like or dislike certain ships helps me more easily match a ship to my flying style and helps me know what to expect when I drop 50mil on a new ride. Thanks for the replies.

' Wrote:Raid Shipping? Sorry mate, can't do that in a destroyer. I suggest looking in to a gunboat if you want to do that.
I was assuming factions at war with that, not outright piracy.

50 mil you say?

Well, for 100 mil, I set up a corsair gunboat, pimped it out (mk VI cap armor) and still had cash to experimrnt with loadouts.

If I can advise anything, take something fast, not heavy. Ships like the Kusari destroyer can easily evade heavy barrages while bearing potenitally devastating firepower.

For "what is best ship"-issues you need OpenSP and the Readme.txt located in the mod directory in FLMM, read it and you'll see why you need it.

It isn't that difficult, just when you activate the mod, enable OpenSP and set location and credits, activate and have fun looking for the destroyer that fits best to you.

Beware, though, you cant do multiplayer while in open sp mode.

Personally, I think the Outcast destroyer is the coolest looking, followed by Liberty's and BH.

I'd say go for the BH Destroyer (yes, I have one myself) if you want to spend 50mil. Have proper energy usage (if you choose your gun layout well) and proper shielding... turn-rate is acceptable.

Oh, bye-the-bye... very nice sig you got there Morrigan - clean and plain... nice.:D

But being the Kusari Destroyer lover I am; I recommend it.
