Thank you Puck for finding this. I feel a little better. I still stand by my opinion that this would never be found by a newbie. Look how long it took all of us to find it.

Yeah, i see the 900mil fine note in game now but I look here at the rules and don't see the promised details. This thread doesn't really help me either, I'm still uncertain what I can do if I'm logged in as my trader and make a run for it. Can i dock and play another character on the other side of Sirius for a while? Can I dock and wait in base for the rats to leave? Can I dock at all?

As far as my intrepretation of it goes, you can dock and move onto another character somewhere else. But DO NOT attempt to use that other character to come back after that pirate. That is the no no. Basically the way I see it is that technically once you dock and F1, you lost the combat situation and coming back to fight him with a different character would violate the re-engagement rules. Correct me if Im wrong anybody.
