large ships turn too slow to make effective use of guns and missiles. It's better to stick with turrets. And if you put gunmounts a liner, it might possibly have enough energy to fire a GB forward cannon, which is a class 7 gun.
The drabness fits into the pirate style as pirates aren't exactly the richest of folk to be souping up their ships. I also hear the Black Dragons are looking for a new flagship and I have a feeling this might fit the bill.
Seems Good. As long as Sigma 13 aint gonna be flooded with these things in 4.85/6. Also i'd make these things as effective as usual liners in terms of weaponry. We don't want another loophole for big ships to be pirating alone.
hell never... I hate fins, horns, wings and similar useless crap.. tell me any logical reason to have fins in space. My ship is vessels for bloodthirsty pirate rats not joyhouse full of luxury geishas. If I add something it would be radar and some aditional plate armor... no fins, no wings, no statues, no fountains, no sun dials and no christmass tree lights.
Ideal space warship is simple cube compiled from segments wich are smaller cubes because cube give you maximum efecitively shooting guns from all angles.Sadly stupid startrek with poor borgs profaned this idea and it never apear in FL:(
this is tank... it has no fins
this is pink cadilac... it have 2 fins.
gues what is more suitable into fight
edit: I am an functionalist... I like when everything on ship have some funcion because everything "more" is just wasting of capacity... *in love with rhienland ships*
enemies of your lizard havent scaners;)fear factor of pirates in modern days are guns and resove to kill = something what victims doesnt have.
Fins on space ships could scare natives somewhere in desert but not person comanding another space ship. As I said.. I never add something that much useless than fins or horns... never.
you are totally correct - only one little flaw there....
we re playing a ww1 simulation here - that happens to be in space. - but the way we fight is :
- visual range
- short range guns
- active and direct dodge manouvers
- etc.
the "fear" factor is around. - the BHG battleship looks harmless and almost tame. - the corsair dreadnought looks massive and like it ll eat you alive.
ask a newbie that has no idea about the stats - and he ll be more afraid ( in terms of being afraid in this game anyway ) of the corsair dreadnought with its spikes and triangular shape - than from the bearded and rather tubelike BHG battleship.
looks are important.
but other than that i agree with you there. - they are insignificant - and a REAL military wouldn t wanne add useless fins and stuff to their gear ( stuff that gets stuck in docking channels, rocks, lanes etc. ) and you need to maintain them....
LOVE this ship. If this gets into the game ill get one as soon as i can. :yahoo:

Not that i want it changed but maybe toy with some armor plate iether side of the round cargo pod section. If you kept them the same shape as the hull and protruded them just a little, it would keep some happy and make it a little more freelancerish. Something protecting those pods would be very practical.

You don't need to turn fast to stick a cannonball to a train. Especially not if you have prepositioned your ambush by the lane.
I got another idea - would it be possible to put double CD slots? That would make it almost impossible to escape from, if it stagggers Trans CD shots.
