The populations you pass should also reflect the price of your cargo.
For example, Corsairs and artifacts aren't popular anywhere in Bretonia (Brets and Mollys take a dim view) as do Hackers, Rogues and Xenos but Cardamine was different. I'm not sure if any relationships have changed here but if the Outcast cardi smuggler can run to a Rogue base or a Hacker base, then the price of his cargo should reflect that over artifacts who's haulers can't dock there (or who wouldn't in RP).
The run, while generating a lot of creds, would generate less than an artifact round trip.
This would reflect the fact that more cardi smugglers, having more safe havens would have more chance of getting through, so reducing the price.
Anyway, I would vote to bring back the slave run. It would add some colour to some otherwise dull places.
Dunno.
I even ran the run a few times before I realized that a) noone was hunting for slavers and b) I didnt make hardly anything doing it.
I mean, I slid past Java station and the IMG chaps only said 'Hello!"
*headscratch*
' Wrote:Yeah, that's one difficult bit, but in every successful encounter, I call in whatever hauler I can find in the system to get the dropped slaves to the nearest IMG station. Speaking of which, curiously enough Falkland station buys them at 1k a pop.
I used to smuggle slaves on that route at one time.
Only once have I seen CR bring a cargo ship to collect the slaves.
I don't know about others, but that really sucked for me.
