1. Name and vessel type: The Serene-duty, ''IMG defense Investigator'', Eagle Vhf
2. Area of operation:Omega 7 secured area, at freistad surrounding.
3. Mission:Ivestigation in the Walker cloud.
4. Hostiles encountered:None this time,
5. Casualties on both sides:Zero.
So, I kept on my investigation in omega 7, and omega 3 in seek for those Rogues. I had 2 lancemate to assist me. ''jack henderson and Violet.De.La.Fontaine'' . Violet, I am sure, will be a goog asset, and seem to be in good relation with jack who apparently met her in the Dublin sytem not so long ago.
We did not found much, but we sure did see several lone miners.
The most important encounter are:
-BA_Ghost , piloting a Hydra but on our side in this conflict. Still I have strong doubt about is capabilities...
-Triton, piloting A rheinland gunboat. Seem to be on guard near freistadt. Nothing special to report.
So in overall, we have not gathered any intel on the rogue. Maybe the events earlier has made them hide further more in the deep of the Walker cloud. Unfortunatly the zone still remain dangerous for any unescorted civilians or miners...
On this matter, I am requesting the assistance of a permananet defence wing who could also help on this investigation.
After the first patrol of Omega 7 (involved: Ian Desari, Jack Henderson, Ms. Fontaine - see report of Mr. Desari) I landed my Nyx and took a break before heading out again.
I was accompanied by another IMG Nyx.
a) Rebuilding trust - regaining confidence missions
As the system was very calm at that time, we started "regaining trust" and "rebuilding confidence" missions (RTRC missions) in Omega 7. In effect this means that we talked to miners and assured them that the issue of rouge IMG ships is being dealt with and we showed them that we don't mean harm. We spread the word on the problem and encouraged all persons we could find to cooperate with the assigned IMG Patrol pilots.
Conclusion: I think we managed to restore some of the credibility of the IMG by showing our presence and taking visible measures towards a solution, so I'd say this effort was a success.
b) Enemy Encounter: Das Wilde
The patrol ran into two Wilde ships, one gunboat and a bomber. Our Nyxes were outgunned, but we still engaged after a Rhineland large capital vessel closed in. We tried to keep then away from the Rhinelander but were not able to in the light vessels.
The capital ship had to retreat after a while, rendering us competely outgunned. We dragged the fight out a little bit to allow some civilians to get out, then disengaged and returned to Freistadt
Conclusion:
Even if we didn't stand a real chance in the actual fighting, we were able to prove our goodwill towards Rheinland Militär
I can't fly another patrol today because the Nyx still needs some repairs.
Main Mission:
No rouge IMG vessels detected.
Conclusion: Intensifying RTRC missions and patroling for signs of the renegades will lead to an improvement in the situation and the standing of the IMG in Omega 7. Therefore I decided to stay in freistadt instead of returning to Dublin, Hood.
As a consequence the Dublin Assets were assigned an IMG Hydra to keep an eye on things there - confer sightings of renegade IMG vessels in Dublin in this matter.

[font=Fixedsys]Just a short report from Dublin:
1. Advice to all IMG mining assets: Stay out of Dublin
Stay out of Dublin as long as the bounties on about 30 Dubliners attract tons of scum to the system. It is impossible to distinguish friend from foe and bored hunters will do anything.
If anybody is willing to take the risk, get in touch with me to get a list of dangerous criminals that will kill for a little money and that need to be avoided.
Good luck in your mining business, Dublin's was successfully crippled by one rich criminal. Good that it hurts BMM most and we only have to relocate.
2. Protecting the Guild and Hood against being dragged into this
I'm working hard to make clear that these hitmen can't work from Hood. Extreme measures might be necessary if I find out that they use our neutral Freeport status to launch their crimes. I'm still assessing the amount of these individuals who come to Hood, but action could become necessary, fast. I'll keep you informed.
A handsome and serious gentlemen set the Serene-tycoon freedom train on auto pilot mode.
He look at the window in the right corner of his office aboard. He sat, then open his virtual onboard X59 computer. (notheless Ian Desari was tech savy and was known to buy the latest engineerining wonder such as Ageira's supercomputers. )
On the other side of his desk were some notes , handwriten ones, a list of delivery and attached on top of it a quick note for his director Gene Starwind. (Ian, also likes tradition, and simplicity .. as he said its like a bottle of Farkland's best whiskey and freistadt's delicious blue aple strudel)
He takes a breath, a very deep one, and he ''writes'' , by mind control, on a virtual screen...

-->Hello dear guild. My transmission will be seperated in 3 parts: Mining drone program , weekly trade report and some notes and comments I would like to share
Mining Drone program.
In the last main cycle (week) , I started a new development. A named it MD.Epsilon02. I called it that way because of Epsilon Generation of bot, MD for mining drone, and 02, because the first experiment was a disaster... The ''thing'' is basicly a restaured mining vessel, A dacite that was not used anymore that I found in a bad shape ina ALG mover, you know ...trash. With the help of Marcus Trent, my onboard ingineer
We installed:
-a Powerful CPU, programmed by IMG scientist themselves.
-military grade engines and components,
-State of the art X-Ray beam distributors for industrial mining purpose ( bought on planet new Berlin)
-Hight quality battery for extended usage.
-An automatic military grade beacon, the one used by liner ( for emergency or loss of the drone) ( Found on a classified colonial republic surplus store)
We plan to install:
-Civilian universal survival kit, for human rescue... it might come in handy. (include oxygen, water, food ration, pharmaceutica and basic good like some beds, washroom, and a kitchen)
-Basic alloy, and nanobots system, for in-space repairs.
-Removal of any non-needed section of the vessel. (living quarters and cockpit can be transformed into battery storage room)
-Military restrcited component, weapons, Irridium armor, and plenty of dangerous things...
The bot do not operate on his own, it his a remote ''inteligent and independent vessel'' that his partly controlled (going to a specific area or emergency maneuvers) by my crew hands and commanded by myself.
Notheless the program is very sucesful and as a result already served 2 different entity (exlcuding the remote control unit 9 the train).
-Rodrigo: 2X 3000 tons of silver ore for a total of 24 000 000 Sc (39.6%)
-IMG|Ketel[T] (dutch) : 4500 tons of silver ore for a total of 20 000 000 Sc (44.0%)
Both ones, said the bot was very efficient, and amazingly fast. So I guess some new comnponent and an enhanced human-like communication array and the vessel is ready for some major sucess in omega 7.
Weekly trade report
Okay for this part I will go straigh to the key stats. I will eventually talk about some nice customers and buyers I have met as well as some odd anecdotes.

Hello, well I am sorry but yes I indeed. left you alone in omega 5. But do not worry .. i think.. **laught**. What happened is that we were stcuk in an asteroid storm in sector 5D not too far from the local freeport. Our engines and numbers of utlility (not vital) component were just simply ripen off our two combat vessels.
But apparently, your vessel was even more touched because.. you lost consicience in the brieft event.
A bretonian Towing came to get my vessel to the freeport.. Because my transmiter were.. history, an automated towing call were launched using older but more reliable thecnology.. heck those nyx carry some mystical artifacts.... they are build from old things. But this time, apparently it somehow helped me to get out of my deep space journey.
I quickly found all the parts I needed but I could never find a transmitter... and the zoners simply refused to allow me the use of the local transmitter ( because of the previous rogues events nearby). So I could not get in touch with you that quick... until now.
I guess you could call it a very bad incident that finnaly did not became to grimmy for us. Guess what would have happenned if I would have been towed by some corsair.. or worst.. mandalorians for my ''deeds''....
----
Second: to mr. henderson, and the Dublin situation.
Yes, I would say the system is more unstable even if its already a ''wild-zone'' like tau 23. I would say limit your mining operations there, and behave like a ''freiendly investgator''. The same thing should always apply to tau 23, and omega 7. And remember Mollies are not for target training purpose.. use corsair instead. Safe Journey to all. If you found yourself under a bad situation in Dublin , go take a drink at the now temporaly closed to public hood club, talk with the barmans some hours, and enjoy the fireworks.

[font=Fixedsys]Nyx and Vampires in the hands of unlawful Dublin Bountyhunters
Just a very quick notice because it's late and my shift has ended some hours ago:
In a fight BAF against Dublin unlawful hunters there was a Freelancer (unlawful hunter) using Nyx with Vampires. His ship was destroyed, I took his pod and returned it to Hood.
Name of the Pilot: "Insane in the Brain"
We had a small talk in sickbay and I was assured that the Nyx was badly damaged in the explosion and won't be repaired.
Still, if he is seen in a Nyx again, we will have to make him change. I got the scan here in case we need it.
**** Incoming transmission ****
From: Danny Sutherland, patrol vessel Apollyon
To: IMG Guild Channels
Subject: Interesting developments
The following is a transcript recorded while our vessel entered the Freeport 4 vicinity.
Summary: Outcasts do not seem to mind us as much outside of the Tau region. Relations between Outcasts and the Hellfire Legion seem to be on the decline.
[14.01.2011 00:47:42] Maria.Martinez[13th]: Feeble human birdies we will outlive them twice...
[14.01.2011 00:48:01] D.Jameson[101st]: If you see one of them in the process of destroying a Maltese asset, then please be so kind as to disable their ships.
[14.01.2011 00:48:21] IMG|Apollyon: Ah... hunters having some fun I see...
[14.01.2011 00:48:25] Maria.Martinez[13th]: Well first of all I will report to my bitch commander
[14.01.2011 00:48:54] Maria.Martinez[13th]: Then I will take pleasure in eating their livers *oh nom nom nom nom*
[14.01.2011 00:48:56] Chimera: Hello there.
[14.01.2011 00:49:10] BHG|Diamond_Scull: hi...
[14.01.2011 00:49:18] BHG|Diamond_Scull: what are you looking for?
[14.01.2011 00:49:35] BHG|Diamond_Scull: hackers of course
[14.01.2011 00:49:37] Maria.Martinez[13th]: Now If you excuse me I have I legioneer body to abuse...would you like me to pray some information out him? *smiles evily*
[14.01.2011 00:49:39] Chimera: The question is what are YOU looking for here.
[14.01.2011 00:49:40] Eric.Knox.:: None of your business hunter
[14.01.2011 00:49:58] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Grr.. Can't i have peace?
[14.01.2011 00:50:06] Maria.Martinez[13th]: I AM COMMING!
[14.01.2011 00:50:16] D.Jameson[101st]: I loathe having nationals consort with the enemy.
[14.01.2011 00:50:27] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: I'm your enemy?
*Outcast fighter "Maria Martinez" approaches the Freeport defense perimiter, buzzing it's hull. No weapons fired*
[14.01.2011 00:50:28] IMG|Apollyon: I think that outcast has lost it...
[14.01.2011 00:50:30] Maria.Martinez[13th]: Loathe me even more!
[14.01.2011 00:50:32] Golgotha: howdy scums
[14.01.2011 00:50:37] Maria.Martinez[13th]: *laughs*
[14.01.2011 00:50:51] Maria.Martinez[13th]: Complaign to my bitch commander all I want!
[14.01.2011 00:51:19] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: So Jameson, Hellfire is your enemy? Due to what?
[14.01.2011 00:51:23] Maria.Martinez[13th]: Then I will kick her arse and sing the Maltese anthem on her lifeless birdie corpse!
[14.01.2011 00:51:23] IMG|Apollyon: For what reason... You apparantly are enjoying tradelane's shower...
[14.01.2011 00:51:52] Eric.Knox.:: Seems crowded here
[14.01.2011 00:51:58] IMG|Apollyon: Tell me about it...
[14.01.2011 00:52:00] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Oh frack it. I'm heading in.
[14.01.2011 00:52:00] Chimera: So, Hunters.
[14.01.2011 00:52:12] Golgotha: yes lads prepare to die
*Two Bounty Hunter gunboats open fire on D.Jameson, starting with missiles. The battle is outside of the Freeport 4 perimiter*
-> Personal note: Considering the relations between the Lane Hackers and the Outcasts, as well as the sheer number of vessels, Apollyon would not have engaged. The Bounty Hunters made their choice to engage superior forces. There were two outcast fighters, two lane hacker fighters, and at least two vessels belonging to the Hellfire legion, which were outside sensor range.
[14.01.2011 00:52:15] Phate: did they just missile jameson?
[14.01.2011 00:52:15] Chimera: We know why you are here.
[14.01.2011 00:52:20] D.Jameson[101st]: Yes.
[14.01.2011 00:52:21] Phate: Right. You first, boyo.
[14.01.2011 00:52:21] LH~Simon's.Folly: Yep.
[14.01.2011 00:52:30] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Let's clear the fields out of hunters people.
[14.01.2011 00:52:59] IMG|Apollyon: Kindly keep the weapons a few clicks from the freeport... and yourselves for that matter.
[14.01.2011 00:53:17] IMG|Apollyon: *the IMG gunboat keeps a defensive posture near FP4*
[14.01.2011 00:53:44] Death: Golgotha was put out of action by D.Jameson[101st] (Gun).
[14.01.2011 00:53:49] Golgotha: yyaaa!!!!
[14.01.2011 00:53:50] Maria.Martinez[13th]: *looks through the FP window and laughs at the futile attempts of the IMG to establish controll*
[14.01.2011 00:54:38] IMG|Apollyon: *from the window the ongoing battle is visible... occasionally blocked by the passing silhouette of the gunboat*
[14.01.2011 00:55:04] Death: BHG|Diamond_Scull was killed by a hostile vessel.
[14.01.2011 00:55:16] Phate: Can't blame them for trying.
[14.01.2011 00:55:17] Chimera: Not even challenging.
[14.01.2011 00:55:24] D.Jameson[101st]: Hrm...
[14.01.2011 00:55:27] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Well.. That was.. uncivil.
[14.01.2011 00:55:31] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Meh. Hunters.
[14.01.2011 00:55:31] Tupacalypse[13th]: Yeah you can.
[14.01.2011 00:55:35] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: All for money.
[14.01.2011 00:55:35] D.Jameson[101st]: Fiering missiles without a word is rather uncivil, yes.
[14.01.2011 00:55:36] IMG|Apollyon: Already over then...
[14.01.2011 00:55:50] IMG|Apollyon: Ah well.
[14.01.2011 00:55:52] Maria.Martinez[13th]: *Remembers how many Hydra-class gunboats have been slain by her in her TAU days and laughs, then draws a tear*
[14.01.2011 00:55:55] D.Jameson[101st]: Hunter parasites are like that...
[14.01.2011 00:56:04] D.Jameson[101st]: Thank you for your aid.
[14.01.2011 00:56:12] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Yes.. We are having a EDGE plage lately.
[14.01.2011 00:56:13] Chimera: You are welcome Mr Jameson.
[14.01.2011 00:56:41] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: So Jameson.
*the Lane Hacker "Eric Knox" transfers over a few IMG pilots to the Apollyon*
[14.01.2011 00:56:45] IMG|Apollyon: Thank you... I will see these guys safe. Misguided apparantly.
[14.01.2011 00:56:51] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: You said..
[14.01.2011 00:56:59] D.Jameson[101st]: Is there a way that I might repay the favor, hmm?
[14.01.2011 00:57:14] Chimera: A Sarissa ?
[14.01.2011 00:57:21] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: *Chuckles*
[14.01.2011 00:57:26] Phate: I'm not quite following.
[14.01.2011 00:57:32] D.Jameson[101st]: As for you, Miner. I have no issues with you while you are outside of the Taus.
[14.01.2011 00:57:45] Phate: see, that's the spirit.
[14.01.2011 00:58:01] Phate: we don't have to be at each others' throats.
[14.01.2011 00:58:10] IMG|Apollyon: Eh... I'll be returning there sooner or later no doubt. Not my assignment at the moment though.
[14.01.2011 00:58:25] D.Jameson[101st]: They attempt to usurp Maltese space, that is why they are exterminated by the day in the Taus.
[14.01.2011 00:58:32] D.Jameson[101st]: But while they are outside of that space...
[14.01.2011 00:58:49] IMG|Apollyon: Eh. Ursurp? I think you misstook us for Bretonians...
[14.01.2011 00:59:03] Phate: Well that would not be a huge mistake.
[14.01.2011 00:59:07] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: So. Jameson.
[14.01.2011 00:59:14] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: One little thing.
[14.01.2011 00:59:15] Phate: since it's your place of origin, mostly.
[14.01.2011 00:59:21] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Really quick.
[14.01.2011 00:59:23] IMG|Apollyon: We put up a few small mining colonies to tap untouched resources... Yea, I suppose that's true.
[14.01.2011 00:59:35] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Sorry for bothering you and all.
[14.01.2011 00:59:40] D.Jameson[101st]: Untouched? Hardly.
[14.01.2011 00:59:49] Chimera: Gentlemen, this is a mess. Please speak one by one.
[14.01.2011 00:59:59] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Sure sure.
[14.01.2011 01:00:34] D.Jameson[101st]: While I'm sure that you're going to say something painfully illogical, I'll hear you out anyway... Speak, Dagon.
[14.01.2011 01:00:50] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Did the Hellfire shot any cardimine transports?
[14.01.2011 01:00:54] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Anything?
[14.01.2011 01:00:58] D.Jameson[101st]: Yes.
[14.01.2011 01:01:07] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Well... Weird...
[14.01.2011 01:01:14] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Since... Nothing on the reports.
[14.01.2011 01:01:23] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Not in the daily reports..
[14.01.2011 01:01:33] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Or special assignments or orders of the day.
[14.01.2011 01:01:41] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: So.
[14.01.2011 01:01:54] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Until you bring valid claims of anything of the sort.
[14.01.2011 01:01:58] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Toodles.
[14.01.2011 01:02:10] D.Jameson[101st]: It is a valid claim.
[14.01.2011 01:02:21] D.Jameson[101st]: Pretending like it never happened will do you no good.
[14.01.2011 01:02:27] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Administrator. The report database doesn't lie.
[14.01.2011 01:02:28] D.Jameson[101st]: Besides... you already admitted to the deed.
[14.01.2011 01:02:43] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: What deed? That i shot a smuggler that pirated?
[14.01.2011 01:02:45] D.Jameson[101st]: Which once more shows that I was correct; Your statement was highly illogical.
[14.01.2011 01:03:10] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Of course. I am human. Never said what the smuggler in question was smuggling.
[14.01.2011 01:03:41] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: So.. Until you produce any valid proof of your claims..
[14.01.2011 01:03:53] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Continue your operation.
[14.01.2011 01:04:08] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Since, we did nothing.
[14.01.2011 01:04:24] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Now that maltese hot woman is waiting for me.
[14.01.2011 01:04:56] D.Jameson[101st]: Of course... why remain when you know that you can't prove your case? Heh...
[14.01.2011 01:05:08] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: You're the one that has to prove it.
[14.01.2011 01:05:15] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Since you're the one claiming.
[14.01.2011 01:05:24] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: *Chuckles*
[14.01.2011 01:05:30] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Now toodles.
[14.01.2011 01:05:37] IMG|Apollyon: Hmm...

[14.01.2011 01:05:46] D.Jameson[101st]: I doubt you'd listen anyway, being without a thought.
[14.01.2011 01:06:16] IMG|Apollyon: Revolutionaries tend to have a temper... heh.
[14.01.2011 01:06:47] D.Jameson[101st]: Which leads you to wonder what they are revolting against...
[14.01.2011 01:07:13] IMG|Apollyon: Probably the Libertine corporate government... Can't say I'd be sad to see it go.
[14.01.2011 01:07:24] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Carino?
[14.01.2011 01:07:29] [HF]-S-Meallan.Dagon: Where you?

[14.01.2011 01:09:44] D.Jameson[101st]: Which makes you wonder how they recieved those vessels when they are ever so hostile with the "Outcasts", as they say.
[14.01.2011 01:10:11] IMG|Apollyon: *shrug* As far as I am aware the Hessians produce the Borderworld series of craft as well...

[14.01.2011 01:10:27] D.Jameson[101st]: I think not.
[14.01.2011 01:10:32] IMG|Apollyon: Considering how friendly Rheinland is with Liberty, it wouldn't surprise m... oh, no, not those.
[14.01.2011 01:10:43] D.Jameson[101st]: Exactly.
[14.01.2011 01:10:46] IMG|Apollyon: Thought you were talking about the fighters.

* The Outcasts and Lane Hackers head north into the Barrier nebula. Apollyon resumed patrol path towards Hood, after dropping the pilots off at Freeport 4*
Perhaps this information can be of use to the Guild - I thought it interesting enough to report.

It was a busy day for Apollyon's crew. We started off with escorting a guild member towards Narita after meeting up by chance in Frankfurt. It wasn't long before we received a distress call from Java. Apparantly, the usual suspects were out in force again. However, upon arriving, we encountered nothing more then several strikecraft engaged with eachother. Cautioned to stay a distance as we'd only get in the way in close quarters fighting we observed a while, but as the fighting progressed it became apparant our assistance was not needed.
We then set course for Dublin. A brief checkup on Hood and a lot of chaotic communications resulted in nothing interesting. We encountered mr. Henderson near Essex while passing to the gate - but he too had nothing specific to report, short of some "TS-" tagged transponders - bombers that seem to have been declared pirates by the Armed Forces. We'll keep an eye out for those guys.
Cardiff was next on our patrol path, but it was as quiet as ever. One of the few mining operations that doesn't fall under regular attack, the Beryllium trade. We passed to Aland but there too everything was running smoothly. We docked and took on some supplies there.
Omega 7 was a different story. We received some chaotic communications and assumed it might be a ship in distress. It wasn't long before we found the cause. A pack of Hessians, and a Molly in one of their heavy bombers. When I inquired what in the nines a Molly would need to be doing in Omega 7, I was met with a request for credits, for my safety.
Well, that wasn't going to happen.
A fight ensued in which we, supported by a mercenary in a Virage, took out the Molly Barghest, Hessian Odin and Hessian Gunboat. They must not have been elite fighters - our shields did not even go down during the entire battle. The transponder IDs of the enemy vessels read:
YaphetS_Fanboi (Molly Barghest)
Count_Floyd (Hessian Odin)
Balduin (Hessian Gunboat)
While I hope this won't sour our relations with the Mollies and Hessians, we were acting in self-defense in this matter.
The mercenary vessel involved was "Gas.Mask", can be considered friendly.
I then invited the mercenary for a drink on Freistadt - we both needed to resupply. An hour or so later we resumed our patrol, and the merc tailed us for a while, probably hoping for more work. Wasn't long before we received a call from the north field. Apparantly a junker was stealing ore - again. We met up with the Pilgrim liner not far north of Freistadt and immediately engaged - IMG and Kruger vessels in pursuit both caught up fast. Junkers sure know how to make friends.
The Junker vessel's ID was "Columbia". And to my surprise, it set course to moor with Freistadt. I'm sure station security will have prepared a warm welcome for this idiot - despite my request to Freistadt to lock down moorings. I suspect this thief will be turned over to the Rheinland authorities shortly.
A further distress call came from the vicinity of the Stuttgart gate - We went to investigate but instead found three Corsair vessels lurking, sending a false distress. Quickly realising our own vessel was outgunned in this instance we withdrew to the mining field - with the miner's aid we'd have better odds. But the Corsairs did not pursue. We warned the miners of this ambush, and the Rheinland military eventually scattered the ambush.
A final encounter came a hour or two after this. We headed to the north field after an unexpected ion storm drove us back to Freistadt. We were greeted with the sight of a damaged Kruger Hegemon. When asked what happened, it became apparant there was yet another attacker. We got an intercept vector and set course to pursue. Another ore thief, this time by the name "Taykyostuph.Industries", was fleeing a Kruger mining drone. We intercepted and made short work of this thief in an assault transport. He managed to stammer something about "IMG should dislike Kruger". That being the case - we hate thieves aboard the Apollyon here.
The transport was offered it's survival on the condition of dropping the stolen cargo. It did drop the cargo - and promply vaporised it. The Kruger bot eventually destroyed it, assisted by our weapons until the vessel was too damaged to resist. Note to all miners - in case one of these bots goes haywire, they are not programmed for mercy.

Todays patrol started out rather uneventful. For once, Tau 23 was quiet, with only a single miner in the fields. After we saw this fellow to Kyushu, we received a message from South Shields, requesting some assistance with Outcast forces harassing local water transports. After a couple of sorties, on which one, perhaps lost, LPI patrol craft joined us, the area was clear once more. The LPI returned towards Liberty space, via Inverness - probably tailed a smuggler from there. We went on towards Hood.
I met up with Sean Henderson, and later Syrus and Blitz in their respective patrol ships. We got word of a battle in the Taus not much later, but seeing as the Sea of Silence, assisted by Colonial fighter wings, had the situation under control, we remained in Dublin.
Boy, were we in for a show.
A large force of Coalition craft, including a battleship, found itself engaged in the vicinity of the Hood. We drew in a defensive perimiter - given our relations there wasn't much we could do to help either side directly. The Apollyon escorted a Bowex transport which was stuck at Hood to the jumpgate before returning to the Hood perimiter. Armed Forces took the brunt of the engagement, losing a cruiser and several smaller craft before forcing the Coalition to withdraw towards the Arranmore field.
Hood meanwhile took in most of the cruiser's lifepods, while the cruiser itself remained adrift - we suspect it'll be towed back to Southhampton for reconstruction.
We received word that another engagement was underway, with the Coalition forces being attacked by the "Indian" pirate group in close proximity to Arranmore. Blitz, true to his name, rushed over and engaged, and we followed with Sean and Syrus in proximity. To my surprise, there was even a BMM light miner present - I'm not sure who it was shooting at. The battle proved chaotic, but we spotted the battleship, which was already battered from the Armed Forces, under attack by two of the indian bombers. We engaged these bombers, destroying one and forcing the other to disengage.
... the indians were not pleased...
The entire pack of them turned on us, and only a resupply from the battleship saved our hides. In the end, I fell back into a tighter mine pocket of the asteroid field, baiting the fighters to pursue, into an area where the mines would slowly but surely wittle them down. They recognized this tactic and broke pursuit, giving us a welcome breather (we'd been dodging their gunfire for about 15 minutes, unable to get a lock on them ourselves). Note to self: Use terrain to our advantage if possible.
I lost count of the exact number of vessels destroyed and the respective owners - but given that the battleship and our own forces stayed in once piece, and the attackers were forced to disengage, I'd call this encounter a victory, albeit a minor one. Coalition then set course for the Omegas, and we withdrew to Hood for repairs.
Final act of the day was to assist a large mining vessel. Seems the lad was a little wet behind the ears, so we watched over him, gave him a few pointers on how to mine effectively - and escorted him to Detroit. The vessel's name was [IM]-Mori.Momento. We'll keep a lookout for him.
During the mining encounter a Hogosha approached and requested to be resupplied with shield batteries and nanobots. We refused this, as it would violate the terms of IMG's neutrality in the Kusari-Bretonia conflict. A freelancer that did not have this problem soon offered this instead.

Subject: Patrol Encounters
A new day, a new patrol. This time we started out in Liberty - we had docked on Manhattan. On returning to our ship we found the doorway defaced by graffiti - several other ships in the vicinity suffered the same fate. Liberty for Libertonians, freedom for the people - likely Xenos sympathisers. We left it in place, figuring the atmospheric ascent, and the cold of space, would take care of it.
We went towards Pennsylvania, a quiet little corner of Liberty, to do a brief followup scan on planet Hallam. Enroute we received a few systemwide broadcasts, suggesting there were a few aspiring miners in the system. We headed for one in particular, the vessel "Track". The Basalt class miner was trying to locate the depleted northern asteroid field. I cautioned him it wouldn't offer spectacular yields but he insisted on checking. So we did.
We spoke a bit. Turns out he was indeed an IMG miner, albeit a junior one, unsure of the right fields and places to be. Since he was interested in silver mining, I suggested Omega 7, and we headed there. Once at Freistadt I advised him to use one of the local Dacites - A Basalt was simply a bit too fragile. While he was arranging the transfer another junior miner in a Hegemon arrived, looking for a good source of copper. Unfortunately the Hegemon was not properly configured for mining, and had a bad transponder (reading Bounty Hunter). We advised the miner "Kimber" to resolve these issues prior to heading into the fields. Still, the three of us went to visit the northern ore fields. Apollyon showed them which resources were present where.
An annoying Kruger member soon showed spouting some commentary about the improper setup of our miners. I don't think pilot "Sally.Razor" quite got the concept of "junior members". One of our ore transports, "IMG|Ketel" arrived and we set out to start to fill it up. Until we were interrupted.
A pair of Hessian fighters showed up, along with an Outcast. Yea, an Outcast in Omega 7. Must have been suicidal. The Hessians fell on the Kruger vessel - considering it had been acting annoying I wasn't particulary unhappy about it. I advised the mining party to stay clear of the conflict. Miner "Track" had gone to Freeport 1 to purchase a pair of bluebell turrets to accellerate mining. The Outcast however had other plans and fired on the transport Ketel (who had some technical problems and was immobile). Apollyon responded with a demand for it to back down, and soon thereafter, lethal force. The Outcast pilot proved to be only moderately skilled - we were able to save the transport vessel.
Meanwhile two Corsair gunboats had arrived in the vicinity, and they engaged the Hessians. Temporarily outgunned, the Hessians withdrew, and I presume they escaped, their fighters are faster then those gunboats. I actually think the Hessians drew those gunboats away from us miners.
Ketel managed to restore his engines but his cargo bay was damaged. He left the ore for Kimber and fell back to Freistadt. "Track" had rejoined us and we resumed our mining operation, filling up Kimber rapidly. But no rest for the wicked: Another Corsair gunboat, and fighter showed up. After a bit of posturing an uneasy stalemate rose - only to be broken by an excessively agressive Reichsmarine gunboat, who arrived with guns blazing at the Corsair gunboat. The Corsair fighter targeted Apollyon, but it too was moderately skilled, not using it's maneuverability at all. A few well placed shots finished it, and the Corsair gunboat was already in full withdrawal.
The last encounter of the day was more troubling. An alien hybrid vessel, the ones Rheinlanders call "Das Wilde". It seemed damaged, but from previous encounters with vessels of this type, we know it's better to avoid hostilities if it can be done. It seemed to... intuitively request supplies to mend it's hull breaches. I'm not sure how these beings communicate, but it was not using radio. We slowly approached and dropped some of our repair bot supplies, and backed off. Uncertain how to communicate to it, we hoped the gesture would placate it. I'm glad it worked.
After it withdrew we headed for for Freistadt, the miner Kimber finally full. Track chose to remain on the station for a good meal, can't say I blame him, it gets cramped inside a Dacite. Me and Kimber headed for Narita. Kimber had some trouble with the docking gates, had to nudge it through a few times. Stuttgart wasn't an issue, and we stopped in proximity to Berlin, to have the miner reconfigured for mining with the addition of two miner transport turrets. A transponder fix had already been handled at Freistadt.
We resumed course for Frankfurt but were stopped midlane to the gate by a large number of Hessians. Apparantly, the warning I had sent to the Outcast fighter back in Omega 7 had been interpreted as a threat by one of the Hessian fighters. Not quite sure how it could have misinterpreted "Stay out of this, sniffer, or you'll regret it"... Perhaps the Tau slang for Outcasts wasn't known to the Hessian. Regardless, after some explaining and an apology from our end for the confusion, the matter was cleared up. Note to self though: RHA are as furious as Kusari when it comes to perceived disrespect. Best tread lightly around them.
In Sigma 13 we encountered a Kruger vessel beset by a pirate gunboat - a Molly design, aptly named "MollyGB". Figuring there's no Mollies in the Sigmas, I considered the vessel hostile - and remaind between it and Kimber. As Kimber cleared out and held at Naga, I was free to focus on this gunboat. We harassed the gunboat a little, enough for the heavily damaged Kruger vessel to withdraw to Helgoland. After this we confronted the gunboat - asking what a Molly was doing that far from Dublin. Turns out the guy was a freelancer making a living, preying on commercial shipping. Recommend classifying this contact as a known pirate therefor.
I cautioned the gunboat not to follow, and set course to Naga, where Kimber was holding position. We relayed the position of the gunboat to Naga - their fighterwings would have a field day with it in the nebula. Then we resumed course towards Narita... Before we reached the gate, sensors registered a small capital ship core exploding. The GMG know their domain well.
Within Kusari we were scanned numerous times by Naval Forces. Kusari seems to have stepped up security of late... probably due to the tensions with Liberty. We complied each time and there were no issues, although one of them did question the presence of our gunboat within Kusari space. My explanation of escort duty was accepted.
The return voyage to Omega 7 was uneventful. Kimber, now fully equipped and with positional data on the fields, set off for more mining. Ian Desari was present at Freistadt - we received some messages of possible trouble developing around Hood and we moved towards there. Trouble was an understatement...
A large group of Coalition forces was hovering around a large alien vessel. The alien vessel was passive... I got a sense that it was as curious towards the Coalition vessels as they were to it. It all ended up rather confusing - I recall Ian Desari reacting rather protective of the alien vessel, not sure why. In the end some scout belonging to the Order group approached and started spouting orders - something that didn't sit well with me. Folks don't order us around near our own bases. Especially folks that don't have any form of authority in Bretonia whatsoever.
In the end, the alien vessel moved off, as did the Coalition strikecraft. I went to check on the miners with Ian, only to find our miners had quite a bit of protection already. An Argus, the "Romulus" had set up shop just outside the northeast field. It was enough to deter a few prowling Corsair gunboats, and the one that did approach was burned from the sky by Romulus' mortars. Our success saw some BMM miners set up shop close by our operation - as usual, BMM did not employ any escorts of their own. The miners filled up a transport or two, and we decided to call it a night. All in all not a bad day.
Sidenotes:
- Consider forwarding this report to the RHA just to clear up any doubts their pilots may have of that Omega miscommunication.
- Order vessel issued some vague threat about quarantine. We ignored it.
- Ian Desari's behaviour was erratic in Dublin. Could be Molly brew, could be something else.
- Guarded mining operations seem to draw a lot of attention from miners, and the sheer number of folks present deters pirates. These miners are a force in their own right - a Hegemon can do significant damage to a gunboat. This also draws miners into the Guild - if they see the Guild tending to their own while the corporations leave their miners to their fate - could sway a few to join us.
