Perhaps Keepers (or Wild) blew up the wrong Zoner : ))))

What about the unfounded rumor that I am your long lost twin brother / clone come to take revenge upon all who slighted you in the past?

Mind control chips were mentioned at one time as well.

You cant even represent yourself, let alone the whole NPC faction.
Heh, Igor, can you explain me exactly what is that suppose to mean? How is Order| failing to represent ourselfes? Can you not state your opinion once without flaming someone or something.
If you got something against Order|, you have me on skype, feel free to flame there.

Ontopic: My opinion is divided, some factions should be able to represent entire NPC faction while others not, although then complains would start why not everyone are treated equally etc so best is to just say no.

No? And then at the same time yes..

Some factions, -some- but not all should be lead by a single Official faction and that faction should dictate the rules of all sharing the ID's..

NAAAAH!

Im joking, I'm against 1 faction/ID, but I get why the Admins wanna restrict official factions.

"Oh no no, you got it all wrong, we're not the lane hackers we're the lane hackers see the difference?"

I'd like to make some positive comments, because this is most likely quite obscure for anyone who isn't part of the lane hacker player faction. There are other details of inner workings of the faction which we, or at least I personally love so much. There's not a lot of people who know. I won't go into detail. There's one way to find out, if you're interested.

To the point: The players in the lane hacker "clan" don't need to distinguish themselves from other lane hacker players. See the lack of tags, for instance. Sure, some could claim that it was introduced as a way to reduce the ridiculous amounts of PvP combat we were getting in 4.84.

Then again, the only difference lies in the extra entertainment we get, the teamwork, the training, the creativity and unique experience. Oh yes, and the extra challenge. This may not be easy to recognize for all outside observers. Follow this link for more on this topic: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12079

If I wanted to answer the original question in one word, I'd answer the same way as Xoria. No, they shouldn't.
If the question was a little bit different - "Should only official factions represent the whole NPC faction?" - then the answer would be a most definite no.

Anyway, looking at what "represent" can mean...
  • to act or speak officially for (someone or something) ~ Our members like to do this. But we don't prevent anyone else with a lane hacker character from doing so. There are no lesser Lane Hackers. They can't speak for the entire NPC faction any more than we do, of course. The extra weight our opinion might be perceived to have could be supported by our three-year event history, simply the number of lane hackers the leader can speak for, you pick... but that does not really have to matter.
  • to be part of a sports event or other competition for ~ Similar to the above. I don't see a reason to prevent any lane hacker from participating in an event, member or not, unless it would degrade the experience for other players, or was included in the very design and scheduling of the event by another party.
  • to form or be something ~ No, certainly not. Not even all players with Lane Hacker IDs qualify. You'd have to add NPCs and the game-master (Igiss) to the mix.
  • to be an example of / to be a sign or symbol of ~ I think that was even part of the rules we play by in here, if it still isn't (meaning good examples here). Any other lane hacker player can do the same, of course. Sure, it works better in cooperation with other hackers, which is where it gets kinda funny if you think about it.
  • to describe (someone or something) in a particular way ~ NPC faction "public image"? Igiss does this, it is discussed on the forums, the description is often presented by people outside the faction and I'm getting back to the original: why couldn't anyone else do the same.
And as far as giving up power goes, we don't really need any, I think. Except over our members. Burn all faction rights and we'll still be here.
