Is it fun?
When 6 gunboats turn up to attack two fighters and an Osiris?
Three fighters turn up to attack a....Junker smuggler who is alone in Gamma and rather than fly back, sun dive to save them the journey?
These are just examples and by no means to be held up as specific cases.
It's not a reflection on the RP in Gamma. Sadly exactly the opposite. A lot of people are known to play corsairs so other players create characters to fight them, existing almost solely to do that.
Could they exist elsewhere?
Unlikely as they are made for a specific task. Do they benefit any factions RP?
Not that I am aware of. Is that a good thing on an RP server?
Is it an RP server anymore?
Gamma seems to becoming the new unofficial Connecticut. New players often gravitate towards the corsairs and form easy kills for invading players. They get disheartened with corsair characters or possibly even Disco because they thought it was an RP server and leave either Gamma or worse, Disco.
Raiding should be fun for all, not the select few.

Yes, it would encourage larger raids with a more structured fleet.
My measurements wont fully deny raids, but you wont be able to jump into there without someone to take down the platforms. Give them loads of HP and you need atleast a heavy cap to be able to disable them.
The duration their disabled shouldnt be longer then the time a large sized fleet of BS use to get 5k from the platforms. Which is possible within a 3 minute window.
I do enjoy raids, but i do NOT like to go onto skype only to see 200 messages saying "GROUP X RAIDING GAMMA, HELP HELP" every 4 hours. Raids are fun, but only if both parties can enjoy a little break. Its not fun to log in to get raided continuously throughout the day.
bottom line is WE NEED RAIDS, BUT WE NEED TO MAKE THEM MORE ORGANIZED AND LESS FREQUENT. THAT HAS ALWAYS PROVEN TO BE MORE FUN FOR BOTH SIDES
Yesterday sairs raided New London. 2 days ago they raided New Berlin. The home system of two Houses, which are supposed to be bigger/stronger than the Corsairs.
So do I detect a bit of hypocrisy here or it is just me?

and who said such systems shouldnt have such measurements?
The solution i proposed will NOT be very effective against fighters. But then again, a fighter has a VERY high probability of sneaking around undetected, compared to a Gunboat or larger. Simply because their presence is much less threatening and much less visible.
What i desire with my solution of adding weapon platforms is to PREVENT, excuse me for this, LOLWUTS from taking their gunboats/cruisers/battlecruisers/battleships into a system that should be tightly defended from ANY enemy intrusion.
Why am i on about the caps when fighters can be just as annoying? because Caps in large groups take lots of time to deal with, and the time it takes to gather and organize a counterattack on scores of gunboats/cruisers/battlecruisers/battleships is just too long compared to the time it takes them to clean the entire system for ships.
Yeah if you raid NL or NB you can't really complain about people coming in to Gamma
Also, if corsairs want to avoid this they can sit in O-5 or 41 or Theta. People go to Gamma because that's where you all are. Can't ignore your front lines then complain when people get into your home system.

Corsairs are meant to invade Bretonia / Rheinland , and be a general menace.
It's what their lore states.
I am speaking purely from lore perspective here.
and yes , New London should have better defenses ,
Though sairs can dock at the Junker/Gaian bases there,
what gives them more right to be there then for instance Hessians in Gamma.

your totally ignorant to the point of this thread.
(We) The Corsairs are complaining about the increasing problem of OUR HOME being raided 24/7. And Correct me if im wrong, but HOW often do you see CORSAIR Legates, Osirises and Cruisers roam around in aforementioned systems? Once every two months or so? And once they do, they usually get beaten with a stick by the Corsair Council for being there with their caps.
Look at the situation, the Corsair council imposes fines for raiding said systems in caps, because caps should be guarding O5, O41, Theta, Gamma and Kappa from intruders. On the contrary, none of our enemies even get a harsh word thrown at them for going into OUR HOME SYSTEM.
Obviously, you are on the "I like to raid gamma 24/7 without any problems" side. Like 3/4th of the server appear to be. Which is fine, for you. But the remaining 1/4th is having every ounce of fun and enjoyment taken from them, so you can keep bringing hordes of caps into a system which, inRP, you shouldnt even be able to approach without being killed.
The "realistic" chance for a Hunter Cruiser to reach gamma alone without a huge fleet defending it is 0%. Just as there SHOULD BE 0% chance for a Corsair Cruiser to reach New Berlin/London/Tokyo.
Also, let's consider the layout of the 'house systems'.
Corsairs have an advantage. the beginning of their worlds starts in Gamma- Gamma is the only system accessable of their 'main' systems before the others. As in, to get to the others, you have to go through gamma.
You would think the corsairs would take advantage of this. A) proper patrols for their home system. B) it's a choke-point. You'd want to focus a lot more on chokepoints when you have them. It's just more strategically sound.
And 'sairs tend to employ less capships. So I'm in favor of stationary defenses being added, from a lore-perspective.
