So, since no one seems to be willing to buy my Junker PTrain I've considered re-purposing it, especially since I'll most likely end up remaking it at one point anyway (done so 3 times already).
Short info:
The char is of bretonian origin and has according diplomatic alignments. While he stays out of inner-Bretonian quarrels, he doesn't like corsairs or Kusari. Pretty much indifferent towards Rheinland and Liberty unless the Liberty representative is a Xeno.
So, I've toyed around with putting him into a GB, yet as we all know, the junkers don't have one, so what are my options? I know the tech chart and by char alignment the best choice that comes to my mind would be asking the mollies. Yet I'm not entirely sure how big the cooperation between them on the tech permissions is. As I recall the Rogues and Junkers aren't on best terms after all (correct me if I'm wrong here, I'm not very good at Liberty lore).
So what are my alternatives?
Don't think the Zoners would like the purpose I have in mind for the ship. anything that's neutral or better to Kusari is off the boards too. Any other faction that would make sense for a char with that alignment?
Throw me some ideas please.
Oh, and please no suggesting the PTrans. I'm aware the ship exists, yet I don't enjoy the game when looking at an ugly ship. And no bomber-suggestions either, doesn't make that much sense for a captain of larger ships to jump into a snub, especially since I would have no idea what to do with his crew in between.

You can freely fly the zoner one without permission since it is available for sale at the junker base.
Indeed there could be some RP consequences but it is fair game. You can also try to request one from Rogues/Mollys.

The salvager can mount Gb weapon. But it's huge, it's slow and it has only a small Gb power core.
(However it has the best hull)
The salvager is a joke, actually all other GBs are better then it, even P-trans is better then it.

Have you ever tried to PvP with it? It looks cool indeed but have only 5 forward GB slots and transport shield and it is damn slow. I would say that every GB pilot will kill it as well 12 gunner Transport pilot, the same with P-trans bombers and fighters yes it is a joke.

Last time I checked on Freighters they either needed long lanes or teamwork if intended for (depending on the point of view) less legal use. Since my favourite Freighter-wingman isn't on disco anymore that idea won't work out.
As for the Salvager: I have flown it in the past. It is indeed a nice ship and I'd take it if I'd go for Scrap-mining or didn't have any use for a CD at all. But doesn't fit the need this time.
So, the Conference seems to be an option, even though it has a little bit too "fresh-off-the-docks" look for my liking. Should work out nonetheless. On a related note: I know it was discussed a few times, but can't recall any outcome, Do Junkers get their own GB in .86 (next century)?

I think I understand now why you find it sucks.
I don't PvP with transports that don't even have a CD slot. It's obviously not meant for piracy, let alone fighting GBs. (by the way, are you expecting a transport to kill a gb ?)

post 2 here so no junkah gb.
And yes with a some difference in armours and skill level transports do kill GBs.
So let see salvager is not meant for piracy have less cargo then BWT costs 3 times more and have the same survival chances when pirated... it is a joke.
