You are a trader. Your route is from Liberty to, say, New Tokyo. Shikoku is camped by pierats. WAT DO?
Post a bounty contract on the forums.
Roleplay with freelancers and mercs to create distractions.
Contact the lawful authorities (Usually found in Conn)
Use a different route.
Use jumpholes.
Fly above the plane.
There are many ways you can do this.

' Wrote:So tell me, how does this work for House corporations who shouldn't really be using most jump holes?
House corporations are naturally more sensitive to this change (especially the tagged ones), but in return they do get increased attention from house lawfuls too. I guess convoys, scouting and very careful planning when jumpholes or the choice of an alternative cargo isnt an option. And lets face it, most powertraders do not care about the RP-value of their cargo and ID (some even use the liberty jumpholes to cut their routes short, even if it means passing several rogue and hacker bases), but plain profit-maximizing so they can shuffle around routes and commodities as they see fit - that does not mean that proper trading factions have to suffer, but lets give it a chance. It works in other games. As it is now, a gb/bomberswarm would also be the death of the corporate trader.
EDIT: Not sure if Bowex can use military-grade stuff, but if so the Challenger would be a great counter too.
Yes, because now they are completely and unfairly overpowering you. It wouldn't be so bad if you could use the system you were blown up in, but now you either have to pay the pirate, or have a HUGE kink put into your trading and playing on the server.
This is why it is an unfair change to the traders, because it makes trading 1000 times more difficult, as if it wasn't difficult enough already with all the lolwut and power pirates that already existed.

Cloaks..tricky but they don't run for very long unless the cloaked caps have a fuel supply ship with them.
If bad guys are present:
1) find alternative route
2) or find bombers
Yes, exactly. Seriously - you'll find that this is EXACTLY what we of the BHG| have been pounding on about for the last ... oh, year? Two? THREE? Even back when we were the S/D? Why is that? Oh, maybe because IT WORKS!
' Wrote:Um, a small note I will make, which, most obviously, will be ignored.
Hire bounty hunters, mercs and freelancers. And.....
Make them scout for you. :<
Why would you even waste your time to shoot pirates. Seriously. You are a businessman.
Yes, exactly. God, all we need now is Ryoken to chime in here that he agrees with both Spazzy, Matt, and I, and the entire universe will come to a crashing halt, before the Mayan Calendar 'ends'...
' Wrote:Said it before, BHG need to be able to fly caps now and have access to house space.
No.
Wait, what? The head of the BHG does NOT want to fly caps in house space?
Yep. We still want caps restricted for Core usage only, and the Core is using them against the Order and Nomads. No caps in house space, and it's still a standing order that even if you sneak your way in somehow, it's a faction rule that no - no, you really didn't do that.
On another note - oh my god, all the gnashing and wailing that it going on here, how things are completely ruined and destroyed. Guys - give it a few weeks. Instant gratification is not the answer here - and actually SEEING what happens and how things happen is what this trial is all about.
How about learning some patience first? Especially since I applaud the admin team for this trial. It's NOT a reversal of things back to 4.84. I think it's time to upgrade my Navy gunboat up to a cruiser, since the reason I downgraded it in the first place was because of the P-Trans pilots thumbing their noses at me.
