It took me a year to work out that the directions the dashes go on the trade lanes in minimaps actually means.

Also I still don't know how to group weapons. Noticed it in the controls menu but never needed to use it. I just use shift and 1 - 8 to switch off and on what I want to use.

Also I didn't noticed until a while ago you can actually lock your thruster on ...

you can lock your thruster???? as for the red and green lights i allways wounderd what they were

Look though the command settings on the options menu. You can set a "toggle thruster" button, which just lets the thruster run until it's out of juice. Or until you tap the Tab key.

i always make the joke of "DO A BARREL ROLL" when people get caught by opposing players. only now do i wonder if they actually took that advice

and i know ill be doing alot more barrel rolls now

ive been playing freelancer since i was about 11 or 12 and im 19 now
about less than a month ago i learned about the lights on the trade lane, weapon groups, EK, and i never knew that the map illustrated the direction of the top of the ring.

this thread has taught me so much.
