I have the same experience. Just don't go to NY or California. There are so many other routes...

pirates are mostly at popular routes. the ones the newer players like to powertrade.

with a bit informing and training you dont run into pirates that often.

that why I ignore all the "STUPED PIRATES Q_Q!" rager...

its their fault. nothing more. fly less known less polulated routes... problem solved

/edit: well ninjad by spazzy...

whut? hehe... maybe they are spazzylovers?

I gave it up expecting to be pirated. No one cares when a 5K cargo ship is flying around, but everyone
storms the next mining ship like vultures. Maybe most of them didn't realize that the mining mod was disabled.
Which leads me to the conclusion that most pirates aren't in the forums.

Oh and by the way: the pirate activity started decreasing long before the mining mod got shut down. I mean
my route is a real blockade runner through house space but no... nobody here, no pirate, no police. Did they
all followed the little phrase above my sig?

*shrug* Hop on LickABrick again and show em how it's done? Perhaps see the world from the other side? With a module as vast as Discovery, with so many bases and trade opportunities you can sit at a lane for an hour and not encounter a single trader.

There's a few chokepoints though.
Cambridge: The Omega 3 hole to Leeds hole area (good for a Corsair or Molly/Feegle ambush)
Sigma 13 lane, especially between Helgoland and Naha (good for an OC, Junker, Hogosha or Sair ambush)
Frankfurt: Lane between the New Berlin gate and Mannheim (good for any Rheinland unlawfuls)
Kyushu lane between Tsushima and Kyushu planet (good for an OC, GC or BD ambush)
Omega 7, lane between Freistadt and the Omega 3 gate (good for OC, Hessians)
Magellan, lane between Freeport 4 and California gate (good for OC, Liberty unlawfuls)
Shikoku, Junyo to Deshima lane (Good for Kusari unlawfuls, Liberty unlawfuls - though at the edge of their ZoI)
California: Between the New York jumpgate and Riverside. (Good for Liberty unlawfuls, OC)

These are all chokepoints on common routes which cannot easily be gone around.

Wide awake in a world that sleeps, enduring thoughts, enduring scenes. The knowledge of what is yet to come.
From a time when all seems lost, from a dead man to a world, without restraint, unafraid and free.

Mostly retired Discovery member. May still visit from time to time.
