Can't help you unless you give us some info.
rheinland and liberty would seem fine..also i used to be a corsair....csnt remember where that was..
also, i guess to start off, mining would be the only way to go right?..
any recommended ships and load out for start ups?..would i get attacked by other players?..
Trade? Mine?
Go to kill stuff and plunder credits- join the Mollys or the Corsairs- check the factions part of the forum- join some faction and learn the basics fast.

Well, while plunder -is- fun, a mining or trading ship is necessary for proper funding, so make an indie or join a nice money-making faction for that.
After that, you have to choose a faction! Can't really recommend one, just think of questions like what area you want to be in, lawful/unlawful side, and more specifically the faction behavior.
Another note, re-read the rules, they're sure to have changed since you were gone. If you need help starting again, factions will likely help you set up.
Are you hun? Or are there other nations out there who use the word above for a group of people? I remember I spelled it with 'r' back than. It's 'faction' in English.
