Quote:But that isn't roleplaying - that is writing fiction.
[font=Comic Sans Ms]Isn't roleplaying fictional in the first place? Why can't-
You know what?
Arguing against the devs and administration is a waste of time. We the general community are happy with the rules and decisions that have been made by them. For if we truly were upset and took issue with inane rules, the "Your roleplaying is out of roleplay" attitude, the privilages the old guard are which newbies can never hope for, we'd just leave.
The tech chart should only have 2 type of cells: 'Can be freely used' and 'need permission'.
Who'd give permission? Some kind of committee that has both official faction members and respected indies/elders in it. Maybe even members of the balance team. Each faction would have its own "tech permission committee".

Obviously this wouldn't get approved by the committee, so I don't see any reason to force admins to read 25 boring-ass stories/week.

Please let me try to explain. SRP is the only path for certain characters. The tech chart does not accommodate people who wish for an exception (special op status) to the ship permission listed on an ID. Terrorist ID and Special Operative ID are not purchasable. Without SRP, these rare "needles in the haystack" will go extinct on the server . . .

That. people judge by IDs too much, i.e I'll take *CBF* people see us and go "pirate! KEEL IT!" really, giving VERY poor RP since they only judge by IDs, which is frustrating me.
I won't use names, but in recent incident that took place with a small group of IMGs and me, they kinda simply said: "Pirate leave the system or die" when I tried to explain them that I am not pirate: "You have pirate ID, now you die" well I did manage to get away but it still sucks.

If you think an SRP is the only way to accomplish your RP, you're not thinking hard enough. The only thing people *need* SRP for is to get a PvP edge.
Everyone thinks that they're special enough to get an exception to the rules. Why? I don't get it.

If you're not a pirate, you shouldn't be using the pirate ID.

I don't think I am special enough for one.
As a good example of SRP gone right, I ran into a Rogue/Molly Destroyer at Rochester the other day with junker tag and Special Ops ID. The character talked with another guy there for about three hours, while the other guy tried to talk through her violent bloody past and make a change in her life. Of course, my friend asked her on a date, but she responded in character.

My camera ship is clearly for PvP.
Characters Alan Markson: The Hellfire Legion's Lord Commander The Perihelion: Freeport Four's guardian, and yet much more. Missing and assumed Lost with all hands. Eric Dresmund: Junker, smuggler, thief. Last seen drunk on Beaumont Vayrn Wyard: IMG Recon pilot turned Neo-Terran Captain. Last location unknown

Either you don't read, or ignore whats written, with that said you better re-read. and at CBF the dudes are so lame at PvP that me with my horrible lags need to give them fighting lessons.
