Faction: Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing
Tag: BMM-
ID/IFF: BMM
Why you should join BMM-: BMM is a great faction for starting your Disco RP career.
Story-wise, BMM is losing many of its fields. Despite this, it still has access to mine them--just with an added hint of danger. Think Tau-23, or even the niobium field in Leeds (controlled by kusari). If you enjoy mining under pressure with a team of miners, like earning credits, or just like role-playing a worker with a horrible contract, This is the faction for you!
Like PvP? Good. In BMM you dont look for fights, fights come looking for you. The larger your team, the larger chance someone will attempt piracy.
Special notes: New members receive a grant of 25 million credits worth of equipment. Need to make a new Mafic or Dacite? No problem, just bring it to Thames and we will sort 95% of the equipment from there.
Preferred ships: Mafics, Basalts and Dacites (security division uses CTE snubcraft.)
Minimum PvP requirements: Know how to fire a mining laser.
Recruitment Terminal: Apply today!
Why you should join Bowex): Bowex offers you the best mixture of Roleplay and earning cold hard cash in Bretonia with the added bonus of being able to go where you want to go. If you look in the story line both in disco and vanilla Bowex has a fascinating story as it is the dominant cargo hauler in Bretonia however faces the upstark members of gateway this has lead to relations between bowex-bmm and gateway-img at a all time low due to the tau war which was started over mining rights. Thus coporate espionage is rife and conflict of words can not be ruled out. We also have exploration and security wing for those who wish to pilot fighters and bombers these pilots will be responsible for the secruity of the current shipment and if you defeat a well know pirate you may recieve a bonus on top . Borderworlds Exports is proud of being Bretonia thus will frequently liberate cargo from Kusari ships in the Taus and Omegas away from prying eyes. If you are caught liberating the cargo or caught doing illegal activites you will be disowned from the company. So if you want to be part of the coporate giant and part of the bretonian economy then join the Borderworlds Exports family with full health coverage thanks to the Bretonian National Health service, in-house dental cover (which is unfortunately no longer covered by the NHS) and in-house insurance, as operated by the Heirs Re group of the Bowex conglomerate.
You can also elect to pass up war duties. Bretonia is in need of supplies all over, not just on the front line! Recruits with pacifistic leanings will be assigned to the New London, Cambridge, Dublin and Manchester supply fleets.
Special notes: New members who cant afford a percheron is given a grant to pay for the percheron. This grant is payed back either on the quitting date of the person or via donations to Bowex)Victoria.I
Prefered Ships: Percheron, Shire, Shetland. Civillian transports/trains, civilian and Borderworlds fighters and bombers. Low amount of Bretonian Strike-craft (given with permission).
Minimum PvP: For the ex/sec wing you need to know how to scout ahead and identify potential threats the shipping conglomerate requires you to be able to fire transport turrets.
Who we don't look for: Bowex will not stand for players who go on the forums and complain about when they get pirate. I don't care if it was for all of your cargo or if it was for 5 million on empty . If this was a pure power trader server and oriented towards making pure money with out RP then sure, but this is an RP server and Bowex is a stringent follower of RP.
Name of the faction: ALG Waste Disposal Tag: [ALG] ID/IFF: ALG
Why you should join ALG Waste Disposal: well ALG is a fun corporation that has RP routes and pretty profitable ones too. We transport toxic waste, scrap metal and other hazardous materials to safe places like Dortmund or Fuchu prison. ALG is a long standing company that has contracts with bretonians, libertonians, rheinlanders and kusarians. Also we can mine scrap metal, toxic waste. Dont think toxic waste isnt profitable becouse of the low price. One other thing we can transport MOX that is very profitable commoditie and u can make your fortune. You would want to ask "Why not Junkers?" its simple becouse most major houses choose a lawful corporation with few hundread year experience in waste managment and you wont have any conflicts with libertonians or any other house (except Hispania and Gallia). We also do large mining operations few times a week. Now ALG's higiest priority is to clean Leeds smog fields and Grande Negra in Texas system. We mostly mine scrap metal and toxic waste. Also for eco-friends we recycle all toxic waste to MOX so come on here and help us clean the space!
Preferred ships: ALG Heavy Mover, RAT, Behemoth(these 2 ships cant enter Liberty), Heron, Crane, Stork, Albatross and all other civilian ships. Also may get Rheinland Military and Police craft but premission required.
Minimum PvP: You just need to know our diplomacy and know which ship to shoot.
We dont look for: Traders who get blown up, go to the forums and whine that they got destroyed by that and that.
Name of Faction:The Omicroners Tag: (]o[) ID/IFF: Zoner & Zoner Guard Why you should join The Omicroners:
You should only join The Omicroners if you are looking to expand your horizons and partake in a more subtlety-led and defined role-play. Being a member means the intricacies of diplomacy will become second nature, and you will utilise both words and action, as well as submission or physical hostility, depending on the situation at hand. You will build up your wealth, but only with role-play as a driving force behind your trade routes, and usually in some way to benefit the faction as a whole.
The Omicroners are not interested in silent power-traders looking to build up hordes of wealth with the faction's reputation and neutrality as a shield; the shield is tested enough, and they need it for other things. They seek interaction, interconnection and influence with all factions in Sirius, and this is a goal they constantly work towards.
You should definitely join if you are looking for something different; an unusual and detailed character role-play, a fun group of people willing to teach and support you as your role-play develops and advances and generally a challenging, but rewarding time. Special notes: The Omicroners are rather unusual, with a completely unique style and different sort of role-play. Beyond that, reading the wiki page for them, and talking to their members is recommended. Role-play is what they want and seek to give, but by-products of credits and PVP usually come hand-in-hand with this. Preferred Ships: Raven's Talon, Roc, Border-Worlds Transport and Whale. (Potential allowed ship list has more ships.)
The Omicroners opt for a balance of both capital ships and fighter craft; and their ship usage is flexible enough to change to suit the conditions. Transport-class vessels are not restricted, it does not make sense both in-RP and OoRP. Minimum PvP: Nothing except a willingness to learn. Who we do not look for: People who are unwilling to learn, in short. The Omicroners are Zoners, so there is quite a lot of independence in character creation, and role-play, and they are more than willing to invest time in anyone applying, providing that the applicant is open to communication and feedback. Why you should join GMG: GMG is all the house IDs wrapped into one with the drawback that GMG has one of the smaller ZoI's (good luck classifying us). GMG actually owns and controls it's own sovereign space that needs to be defended from it's enemies through the use of well equipped, well trained paramilitary forces and hired guns (we are very Freelancer and Merc friendly). Although the GMG NPCs aren't actually traders only use transports to move the fuel to storage facilities in Kusari we as a faction do in fact operate a trader division with up to 5k transports (in our trade division I don't make you wait for a 5k, if you get one I promote you, nice and easy). We intercept cargo we deem illicit within our controlled space as police do. The list is small, however, consisting of only Artifacts, Cardamine and Slaves but the Sigmas is a nexus point for all three so opportunities to be the "cop" occur frequently. GMG's "unlawful" side surfaces against Samura and traditionally RM, RFP and Kruger as well but as a faction we have opened the borders for Rheinland and deal with RepEx (Kruger is still shot down with extreme prejudism for coming into Sigmas). Samura and Kruger can be pirated and killed as the pilot sees fit. There is a vanilla aspect of GMG RP that is limiless in it's ZoI and would be considered the most intrusive aspect of GMG RP depending on location. We are explorers and employ Ku Explorers to continue locating new nebulae or profitable materials and mapping all existing JHs. It's not a violent part of GMG but it almost always involves tresspassing so one has to be on his toes when exploring. The possibility of actual gas mining sounds imminent and will be another activity for us to do when it comes. So there we have it; a GMG can be military, police, 5k trader, unlawful pirate/murderer, explorer and soon mining like they should be. Note: I haven't decided yet whether to remove the traders if we get mining or not since GMG normally doesn't go further then the storage depots in the neighbouring houses (Rheinland now being open for us) but we do have a lot of out of house trade in the deep space to keep going. We'll see soon.
Preferred ships: Garanchou (soon), Kamome, Kujira, Karasu, Kaichou and Ahoudari with options to use Kusari Civilian and Civilian ships.
Minimum PvP: We have serious sets of enemies that use the full spectrum of ships and have the highest player bases while at the same time we eliminated caps from our ID. Even if your not good at PvP you will become good at it, particularly with bombers as it's the only ONLY tool you'll have to fend off the caps from both Hispanic houses whose capital planets are only two systems away from GMG space. On top of it all GMG RP revolves around some serious grudges GMG holds so a potential recruit should know that PvP is a natural aspect of GMG and they should expect it and at the same time know that I expect no complaints about such inventive terms like "ganking", "shield running", "bot/bat passing" since I consider all these acceptable tactics to be used by us and against us.
Who we don't look for: I can't stand players who go on the forums and complain when they get blown up in PvP. I don't care if it was 5 vs 1, they were dodging till their shields recharged or someone was feeding bots and bats. If this was a PvP server and oriented towards testing one's skills in even fights because some set of stats is keeping record then sure, but this is an RP server and I'm a strict practitioner of RP.
Why you should join Samura:Samura is the pride of Kusari. A mega-corporation that controls 70% of the entire shipping market as well as dominates 4 of the 5 Kusari house system.
Samura is the tank on the Kusari market, while moving slowly it has the mass to crush everything that is stupid enough to get in it's way. Behind the public face of honour and tradition, the Samura leadership is plotting intrigues against the competition and willing allies with criminal elements which can assist in achieving Samuras goals. Both the Hogosha and the Farmers Alliance are covered by Samuras influence and protected from the hand of law while harming the competition.
Even though the next emperor will be chosen by Kishiro, Samura has dominated the Kusari politics for centuries ever since the Sakura-coup. There is no corporation in Sirius that can be compared to Samura when it comes down to political power. And even without having their own emperor on the thrown, Samura will still be too much part of Kusari to just play a minor role.
The ingame opportunities of Samura are vast. While the ship types are limited to non-capital ships like every other trading faction, those ship types can be used in every way possible. The backbone of our activity are the traders that are flying our goods from Kusari to all corners of Sirius - if need be with a small transport provided to you by the faction for free (this doesn't mean access to larger transports is limited. You are Free to buy one if you can afford one.). The official Samura player faction has even achieved a cease-fire with the corsairs and struck a deal that allows us to land on planet Crete in order to supply them with much needed food in exchange for Artifacts, which - contrary to other houses - Samura is allowed to legally transport and sell within Kusari space.
Another way to earn money as a Samura is to mine in the contested mining areas in Bretonia with a multiplier high enough to go in, fill a cargo hold and disappear before the enemies can rally a larger force.
Samura combat craft also has plenty to do. As archenemies of the Blood Dragons, there is the constant possibility for the bloodthirsty to fight them or one of the other non-allied criminal elements that tend to visit Kusari. Furthermore, you can as well engage in unlawful acts against multiple other credits-oriented factions if you like to play a shadier role within the company. The list of our victims includes the GMG, Synth Foods as well as the Bretonian corporations.
Preferred ships: Kusari and siriuswide civilian ships. Most traders fly either Ryuujins, Akegatas or Titanics. Our escorts have access to the legendary Hogosha Black Dragon if they desire. Our Miners may fly any ships that is suitable to get something of value out of those stubborn rocks
Minimum PvP: None. If you do not want to, there is no need to fight as a Samura. Even our escorts are trained to act as scouts. Fly ahead and report the position of any threat back to the convoy without getting into combat yourself. Only the mining escorts need to know how they can keep an enemy busy long enough until the player who is holding the ore has made it out of range.
If you however are eager to fight, be aware that you may need to go in against some of the strongest ships in the mod, often flown by experienced players. The Kusari shiplines are balanced against each other, so you might end up as a huge target surrounded by what seems to be little flies but can deliver a deadly punch. Those circumstances make the Black Dragon the ship of choice for those of us who want to stand up against the enemy while the others are running to safety.
Who we don't look for: As a economic faction, Samura is willing to accept and teach players that are new to the server as long as said player is willing to learn and listen. If a player however is unwilling to accept advise, he's more likely to harm the faction than we can help him.
Name of Faction: Independent Miners Guild (IMG|) ID/IFF: Independent Miners Guild & Independent Miners Guild Guard Why you should join IMG|: The Independent Miners Guild sets itself aside from house mining corporations in it's diversity and wide operating area. The Guild has assets throughout Sirius, with the exception of the Sigma and Omicron systems. As an organization, IMG is not affiliated with any one house in particular although it's roots lay mainly in Bretonia and Rheinland. IMG also sets itself aside from the House mining corporations by being less profit-driven, and more driven towards securing the welfare and continued employment of the miners that make out the organization. Relatively small in numbers, the Guild exists mostly on the fringes of house space, seeking out rich deposits of resources to exploit. This nature of exploration has led them to be the first humans to set foot in several Sirian solar systems.
IMG is a mining faction, but can also effectively trade with a large number of organizations, and all four houses. IMG tries to remain neutral in most conflicts, so if you're after PvP this faction is not for you. If you're after making credits by mining or trading, in groups when possible, then you're on the right track. IMG can also dock on some bases of a number of unlawful factions - smuggling goods to the Xenos, Red Hessians, Mollies and Lane Hackers is possible.
IMG| has a strong alliance with the Colonial Remnant (CR) and if you feel that PvP itch, IMG| members are generally welcomed to make a fighter or bomber in the Colonial forces. Their primary enemy is the Outcasts in the Tau 23 and Tau 37 systems.
Special Notes: While the Independent Miners Guild has access to capital ships we discourage the use of cruisers and carriers. The IMG/CR capital vessels are inferior to most other capital ships.
Preferred Ships: Any civilian cargo ships. Any mining ships. Any civilian fightercraft. Any ships of the IMG/CR shipline (Nyx, Pytho, Hydra). A little forethought is recommended - if you're going through Bretonia don't do it in a Kusari transport for instance.
Who we don't look for: People who seek to make money without bothering to roleplay, and simply use the faction to meet their self-imposed credit quota before vanishing forever.
