Here's an example of something that is has it's own role.
The Repair ship.
It makes quite a difference in battle, but tell me...
How many repair ships have you seen lately?
Not much.
How many of those repairs ships actually did their role in battle?
Those few that show up to battles often swing the tide drastically.
Also, implosion, your posts are about as helpful as urinating on a beach.
All that it shows is that you dont want the omnipotent ship yanked from you. Its a bomber, not an I win button. true balance is not subjective to wants and needs, but stats.
Last week when RM lolstomped the LN in Texas, there was a repair ship on the RM side doing its job. Of course, I don't know how many regens it actually gave because LN folded so quick.
While the armor type idea would be a hard fix to the problem, I don't think that's necessary. I'm alright with the once-in-a-million shots that allow a bomber to take out a fighter. What I'm not OK with are people who regularly take on VHFs in their bomber and win. Yeah yeah, skill, fine you're more skilled than I am. That's not the point. The point is the fact that the bomber is even capable of such a thing is a problem. Bombers should not be a threat to fighters. Or they should be a minimal threat, like how they are now if the bomber doesn't use the SNAC. Solution? Make it difficult to the point of worthlessness for a SNAC to hit a fighter. The charge up is one idea - even better if it's a random charge up time between 0.5 and 1.5 seconds. The armor type thing I don't like just because it isn't "realistic". Or even better, weaken SNAC or make it a primarily anti-shield weapon and have the nova torp be the primary anti-hull weapon.
The Starlancer torpedo bombers were great, and I'd love to have bombers be more like that here. Stand-off, limited ammo, minimal weapons, tough shield/armor. Stay 4k away from the battleship and chuck torpedoes. Then the escort fighters would have to choose between shooting down torpedoes and shooting the bombers. And the bombers escorts would have to defend the bombers or escort the torpedoes as they go after the battleship. Wouldn't that be cool! Escorting torpedoes!
Oh right, sorry I forgot Discovery is such a carebear place. The 5 year olds might get offended and go crying to their mommys.
Was my post even insulting? As far as I'm aware I was merely stating fact.
I also like how other people's posts you remove only the insulting content, but you removed my entire post. Perhaps I said something you disagree with.

If we're critically thinking about this then it doesnt make sense why caps cant use snacs. What you dont have enough room on board for snac mounts? Bottom line is snac is OP.
As far as balancing bombers go, they are a little heavier with usually less armor but very big mains guns and very light and fast other guns (such as the single person controlled guns).
The end result is in no way does the bomber (top) compare to the fighter (bottom) for agility or speed.

I kinda asked him to pew the dessie with me.
HF + LF vs Destroyer = Fighters win.
We took him down within 20minutes at the most.
:/ so you admit that you didn't do it in a lone LF, which was what you were talking about. That anecdote pertains to the argument how?
By the way, freelancer makes a little more sense if one considers a lone PC snub to represent a squadron, not that it helps any.
But yeah, the theory is that in a game with limited population and snubs and caps co-existing with one another, the difference in power will need to be decreased so that the maximum amount of players required to take on another isn't quite so high. Of course, this entire rationale is moot since you could simply counter with another ship of the same class.

I said I did take the dessie's shield down alone and a small part of his hull.
So it was just a matter if time for me to do it alone, since I didn't take any hits in the process.
While I fighting -alone- somebody else came along to fight with me to speed up the process.
I wasn't really into shooting a single destroyer for 1 hour alone.
So instead I asked someone else to join and help me kill the dessie faster.
My argument: It's possible but it takes time and there are better solutions.
