To balance them, we'd have to make the unable to use tradelanes. And then they would move too slow. It'll be either too fast or too slow. This is why cargoholds maxed at 5k.

Barges can use tradelanes, I dont think just because a ship has a hold a quater the size of the barge it should be unable to use lanes, make em big and slow, perhaps top speed of 50, no thruster, balance them.

No, its more of I'd like to be able to pay for regens and properly armor eveything. I don't need more ships-actually, I only plan on getting five more at most, and most are fighter/bomber, transport...one cap, in the distant future.

What is the point of balancing a 10k transport to make the same amount per hour a 5k makes? The economy is balanced around traders being in 5k transports, it is balanced to cap what they can make per hour.
Why would you haul more cargo and make the same amount per hour? Your risk is greater and your payoff is the same.

I hope you understand that desinging new ships, and re-balancing the whole mod because you don't have as much free time as other people have is not worth it. Don't take my words harsh, I have a job and study as well, I understand what you mean, but still not a reason to overwork it, we will never be capable of matching teenagers disposal for powertrading:PAbout the armors and regens... I was capable of maintaining all my ships with a 5k transport and buying caps at the same time, and I wasn't that good at trading.
The balance for transports appears to be the more Cargo they have, the less defended they are against pirates and the slower they can trade.
5K Transports already have pretty much zero defense and have the manuverability of a rock. You can't get much worse than that without changing the mechanics of how they fly (ie slower cruise, inability to use tradelanes etc.)

I put to both of you the barge, it makes more in the time limit than a 5k, and its bigger, and available, a 10, 20, or 30, k transport would be a mix between a 5k and a barge, becoming more bargelike the bigger its capacity.

Not sure if a 10k trader is a good idea, if you do that, people will need less trade runs to achieve their goals... so there will be less traders running around sirius, said that, what pirates will gonna do?

Hardly. Due to the absurd pricing on everything in Discovery, which is a countermeasure to lolwuts that doesn't work one bit, you always need money. In fact I find this whole argument that high prices and days of trading runs keeps lolwuts away from larger capital ships, when in fact, it doesn't. All it serves to do is keep legitimate players, such as myself, away from most capital ships, as trading is long and more of a chore than fun.
