Don't even get me started on how the Aoi got approved as official faction in the first place. It took less than a month to analyze and approve a faction that's just been created, but it takes half a year to approve (or rather deny) an existing vanilla one? It's off topic, I know, but you're waving this in our face as if it weren't earned by special means whatsoever.

But teschy are you trying to imply there is bias involved in all this, and there was skype lulzing involved in their approval ? Oh no...how could faction based on so much RP do such thing ? I can't believe so.

But most of us ended in nomad laser inferno katanas, but who's counting who has what ship, right ?

As ever, accusations are laid without evidence.

As to the time taken for approving a faction, it varies due to available Admin/dev time, community reaction, etc. If issues are identified in the granting of official status to a player faction, (for example: There are two Daumann player factions trying to become official) then things tend to take more time. The Aoi Iseijin weren't stepping on any toes when they were invented and put forward, and there doesn't seem to be much grumbling about their existence at the time of creation, quite a few people seem to be happy that a previously unused system was getting some activity. (Activity anywhere outside New York those days was worthy of celebration).

I wasn't waving the faction creation request in your face, I was responding to Chopper.

Isn't the evidence fact you posted on September 4 and it was approved on September 22 ?

Can you point me out on any other faction that was approved in 18 days ?

Everyone knows they happen man, but only few of us like to speak publicly about it. I can't leave it, because seeing that video game for kids resembles on government politics is just sad.

I'd believe that having the faction that you created from 0, getting included in the mod as if it has always been part of Freelancer, is a greater reward for your hardwork than having people joining to an official faction.

Because the day you are not here anymore Panzer, the day that the official CR players decide to leave, your faction dies (not saying this will happen, probably will never happen).

If it turns to be a public NPC faction, then it lives forever.

A faction that has an ID that allows to do, let's say, shoot anyone (Any ID) they want without much reasons, shouldn't be free for all.

CR, SCRA and HF ID's (I'm not sure about RoS) don't have that freedom, and I don't see what kind of harm they would do in hands of independent players.

Sounds like the description of a Role Play game...

This thread however resembles an Oprah show. Time to sit back and watch the drama from here on out.

18 days exactly? That's a tough one.

How about just over a day?

I don't think CR is really the issue here, or HF for that matter. These factions pretty much accept anyone who wants to join, and are actively looking for new members.
I know for a fact CR is always looking for more members, even completely new ones. When I joined Disco, BSG accepted me even though I didn't even know what RP was. I learned in it though.
Also, these factions don't utilize any special equipment or ships. Well, at least not in 4.85, maybe in 4.86.
