Unfortunately mate, the rules of the SRP spcifically state that you MUST follow the restrictions of the NPC faction IFF you are displaying. That means if you fail to follow the restrictions of the Freelancer IFF you are flying, you are actually, going by the letter of the law, sanctionable. Freelancers cannot choose a side, therefore you cannot choose a side.
This is a real problem with the SRP process, and one the I have fallen foul of. It is completely irrelevant what is stated as your RP in your SRP because of this little piece of text.
So until such time as the Admins change the SRP rules, I can't see that you have any choice in the matter but to follow the restrictions imposed by the Freelancer IFF you display.
If an Admin jumps in at this point and says that you no longer have to follow the restrictions imposed by your IFF, but only what is detailed in your SRP application, then I'll be celebrating because it means that I can actually do what I've been waiting to do for the past two and a half years.

This was already cleared up several posts back, and I double checked with the admins aswell.
[10/6/2012 6:28:31 PM] Caleb Levesque: I've a question I need clarifying concerning the SRP
[10/6/2012 6:30:22 PM] Caleb Levesque: The Spec Ops ID say's my actions need to reflect my IFF, but there is no "Pirate IFF"
[10/6/2012 6:30:46 PM] Caleb Levesque: is it alright to pirate with a "Freelancer IFF" ?
[10/6/2012 6:31:15 PM] Caleb Levesque: I was under the impression that because my SRP details that I would continue piracy that it would be on the up and up
[10/6/2012 6:31:36 PM] Caleb Levesque: but Ursus is trying to claim that I am breaking the rules, quoting that clause in the ID
[10/6/2012 7:50:03 PM] Zukeenee: The SRP defines your actions in this case, not your IFF. You're fine.
---If you wish to further discuss this issue, and not give feedback on new encounters with the ship Rip.Red.Rorry, then please, lets make a new thread for such a purpose.
Yber and Moritz, though I agree with what you've said there is no need to post in this thread to takes sides or back me up unless I have asked you to do so.
Thanks people Let's stick to ingame encounter feedback.
Since I was also there on that night, I will take the opportunity to point at the fun things that happened instead. Me and Rorry flew around for quite some time, and we met a few people, who we had the chance to RP with. Although Rorry's ship opens the door for some RP, since people are curious, it's Rorry's RP that is the memorable thing. I've been pretty bored with FL lately, but this simply blew my mind. I got such a kick out of it. I've read the backstory, and I got a hint of what's to come. Very cool stuff!
Bowex)Baird here. Good Pirate RP and RP overall. Pretty nice guy.
The only thing I didn't like was that you "demanded" credits but didn't mention how many you wanted. When that happened all that was on my head was like "oh god I'm so screwed". Didn't know that would end in... a mental breakdown followed by an escape or something?
Other than that, good RP. We should do that again.

Indeed, I wasn't going to shoot you without making a clear demand. I quite enjoyed the whole thing, even running from those [RM] fellas that showed up. Kudos to you all for making it a great encounter.
