By being accepted into the ranks of Red Hessian Army, you will now fly under the color of volksrevolution and fight for a better Rheinland - One free of the claws of Kanzler, and safe from any threats be it foreign or domestic. e.g. Corsairs, Liberty, Marinenachrichtendienst -, and for so to become possible, you'll need to be in full coordination with rest of the volksrevolution troops, which is why having an active S.K.Y.P.E. protocol is necessary for the Army. After joining the army, make sure to be added to the proper S.K.Y.P.E. channels before launching to space as your first flight under RHA flag.
» So I'm a rekrut, what now?
Being a rekrut means you're to prove yourself capable of operating under the colors of volksrevolution before being added into the official roster of the RHA. To do so, you have one week to fulfill the requirements for promotion to Flieger.
Quote: Rekrut
Rekrut insignia
RHA rekruts are newly admitted pilots to the Red Hessian Army. Some are without flight training, others are former military, and yet others have just turned to the Hessians from civilian duty and have been admitted to the Army to fill up holes. This is the period during which they get to know their surroundings and the ships they are given to fly for the revolutionary cause. They will only get to proceed to the rank of Flieger if they have carried out the promotion requirements within the specified time (7 days).
Bonus given: Money for ship setup
Restrictions:
Allowed ship classes: Fighters
Only Red Hessian and civilian guns allowed to be mounted on your fighter(s)
Requirements for promotion to Flieger:
2 reports posted in message dump
Proof of fully set up fighter, with the appropriate ID and IFF
Ships required: Odin/Sabre/Switchblade/Loki (at least one of these)
Take note that during this period you're Not allowed to use [RHA] tag on any of your ships, but once you're promoted to Flieger, you'll get the clearance to do so. Now, to fulfill these steps first you need to read through our Operational Manual carefully, then bookmark the link to RHA Message Dumps and then as your first report, submit the proof of your fully set-up fighter in form of screenshots taken from your ID, Reputation sheet and Equipment screens. Then, after submitting your first report, you have one week to file two patrol reports, from your flight around Hessian territory and post logs of your in-game interaction with friendly, neutral or hostile forces - Be it in form of piracy attempts, combat situations or non-aggressive conversations.
After you've fulfilled these requirements, you will be promoted to Flieger and granted clearance to use [RHA] tag on your ships.
» What happens if I don't get this done in one week?
Simple. You'll be expelled from the faction.
» Why do I need Skype?
Each and every official faction on Discovery are based on teamplay, which is why Skype is a mandatory tool for their members. Also, as a new member of RHA - so, most likely new to hessian line of roleplay as well - you might run into certain situations which might prove to be problematic to control, or run into questions that you wouldn't know the answer. In these cases, a simple message on RHA skype channel will answer your question. Also, if under pressure from uneven number of hostiles, RHA channel can be used as an emergency help request method to call in backup to even up the odds.
But in cases other than these, RHA chat is mostly used for casual discussion, RHA-related or non-related, between the members of the faction.
» Anything else I need to know?
First and foremost, trying to fly along the other members of the RHA is encouraged. Most important part of playing in a faction is getting the opportunity to fly in packs, so drop a message on Skype when you want to log your RHA and see if anyone else is also interested to join.
Also, RHA has monthly roll-calls posted in our Faction sub-forum. These roll-calls will be announced using chat title of our Skype channel, and posting in them is mandatory. Even if you're the most active member in-game and on message dumps, but forget to post in the roll-call in time, you will be removed from the roster.
Then, there are additional assignments also posted in our faction sub-forum, mainly in form of individual operations. Consider them a chance to gain faster promotion, and do your best to take part in the progress of said operations.
Last but not least, RHA includes some of the older and more-experienced PvPers and instructors on Discovery. So use this opportunity if you feel you'd need combat instructions or practice sessions to improve your flight capabilities. Our practice sessions are usually held in Omega-54, our guard system.
