if the tag is 'none', how can we tell if the player in question is a [R] or not?
what was the reasoning behind not using tags for part of the group?
which part of the group is exempt from using tags?

"they do it in style and they always get away".... does this mean that if one of your members fails to get away, their character is no longer a member of the renegades? either way, this sentence smacks of powergaming. perhaps modify it to "they always get away - sometimes from the heat of battle, or sometimes from the comfort and security of a prison cell".

Trust me, the victim will always know if he is dealing with a renegade member or not. Why not using a tag all the time? It's simple, that way we can avoid people switching to their police, bunter chars as they see the |R| on the player list.
Also, it's not about powergaming. The main goal is to bring more fun in the game, improve piracy and -as Veygaar said- crime on disco -within the rules of course-.

About that "they do it in style and always get away" part. It only means that there is always rp behind our actions (so not the well known "2milordai" style) and usually we will try everything to succeed and walk away without getting caught. After all this is the mark of a professional pirate isn't it?
