There's a whole lot of unfounded speculation on what would happen to codename prices in the event that this change were implemented. None of it is particularly compelling. Here are a few considerations:
1. Would introducing location variance really reduce the codename flux into the market? Can we honestly say that making the wrecks spawn within a 3x3 sector (For example) box instead of a fixed location will prevent their being discovered before the next server reset?*
2. Given the systems one typically finds wrecks in, can we expect that non-code hunters will stumble across these guns on a regular basis? I can't speak for other players, but I've never had a legitimate (in-RP) reason to fly through Oita.
3. Even in the event that codename prices did go up due to this modification, the problem could by solved by upgrading Flashpoints to draw prospective Freelancer IFF'd players away from codenames and reduce demand.
* The only situation I could forsee this happening in is if the box were so large that it simply wasn't worth the time to find the codenames; this would definitely produce a price spike.
